What The Devil Doesn’t Want You To Know

What the devil doesn’t want you to know is that he exists!

Jesus said this about Satan:

what the devil doesn't want you to know

Here is the entire Scripture passage:

He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.(John 8:44)

The Devil Has A Crippling Weakness:
What the devil doesn’t want you to know is this:

  • What kryptonite is to Superman…

  • What light is to cockroaches…

  • What the Cross is to Dracula…

  • God’s spoken Word is to the devil!

Satan and his legions of demons are powerless and flee in terror when confronted by the supernatural power of the Truth of God’s Word.

Here’s why this is important to you:

Because the devil is behind most of the problems you are having.

The devil doesn’t want you to know this:

God Promises: You Can Live Free From Fear, Panic, Anxiety, Nightmares, Worry, and more!
God has put His power into His Word! You and I can access that power by speaking God’s Word against the devil.

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

20Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the POWER that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20~21 NKJV)

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16)

4 for the weapons of our warfare are not worldly, but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4~5)

The devil needs God’s permission before he can do anything to you. But the devil has figured out how to “game the system” to get God’s permission. Very legalistic; has to do with you and I having a free will.

In Biblical times, mighty men of war relied upon their swords to slay their enemies. That’s why God inspired Paul to use a “sword” as a metaphor for a powerful weapon:

And take … the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17)

So, what you need right now is some practical, focused information about three things:

  1. The strategies the devil uses to defeat you.
  2. Why all of this is important.
  3. Take Action. Here’s How To Arm Yourself.
Here Are Seven Strategies The Devil Uses:

1 STEALTH: As stated above, what the devil doesn’t want you to know is that he exists. If God is the great “I AM”, Satan is the great “I AM NOT”! But Jesus, Paul, Peter and all the New Testament writers knew that demons exist, and they strongly warned us to be on guard and not fall into the devil’s traps.

2 IGNORANCE: Whether you know demons exist or not, what the devil doesn’t want you to know about is the incredible power of God’s Word and the awesome benefits of doing God’s will in things like Scripture memory.

3 ANESTHESIA: If somehow you throw off your ignorance of God’s Word and begin to read it, the Devil wants to keep you “anesthetized” such that you read the words — but they might as well be written in a foreign language. They have no meaning to you. The Gospel is veiled, and you are in danger of perishing. (See  Romans 11:8 and 2 Corinthians 4:3~4 )

4 UNBELIEF: If they fail to keep the truth from you, their next strategy is to keep you from taking these truths seriously. What the devil doesn’t want you to know here is they plant thoughts of unbelief in your mind. They try to get you to think that doing things like Scripture memory are really not important…other things are much more important. They try to get you to doubt that God exists or doubt the accuracy of the Bible.

5 DISTRACTION: If you are still determined to believe and press on, what the devil doesn’t want you to know here is that they will work to distract you. You’ll feel hungry; you’ll feel tired; you’ll think about your grocery list or your to-do list; someone will call; you’ll feel inclined to spend hours surfing the internet, etc.

6 DOUBT: Another thing very high on the list of things the Devil doesn’t want you to know is that he will try to make you doubt such things as the very authenticity of the Bible. This despite that fact that Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every Word of God proves true…”. He wants you to doubt that Jesus said, “It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle (small grammatical mark) of the law (the Bible) to fail.” (Luke 16:17). The devil even wants you to doubt that you could ever do such an audacious thing as to memorize even one verse of Scripture!

7 OUTRIGHT LIES: See John 8:44 (Scripture photo at the top.) What the devil doesn’t want you to know is that EVERYTHING he says is a lie. Oh, he’ll tell half-truths, mixing a little bit if truth with a lot of untruth. But those statements are like a pan of chocolate brownies… with dog poop baked into them! You would NEVER eat that if you knew what was in it! Neither should you “eat” the words of the Devil.

More About The Strategy Of Satan:

Satan goes after your mind by putting his lies into your thoughts. His purpose is to keep you ignorant of God’s will for you. But once you begin to take hold of the principles I’ve shown you here, you’ll have a great defense against him.

Satan goes after your body by inflicting suffering upon you. His purpose is to get you to be impatient with God’s will for you. But as God said to Paul in 2 Corinthians 12: “My Grace is sufficient for you…”.

Satan attacks your will by attempting to sow pride into your life, so as to make you independent of God’s will. But when you filter your actions and even your thoughts by asking in your heart, “Would this thought (action) grieve the Holy Spirit?”, you are in effect making the Holy Spirit the gatekeeper of your mind.

Seven Things God DOES Want You To Know:
  1. The devil is real. He hates you because you love Jesus and Jesus loves you. By taking you down, the devil thinks he can hurt Jesus.
  2. The devil is behind most of the fear, worry, doubt, guilt, etc. in your life.
  3. Satan’s purpose is remarkably simple: he goes to great lengths with empty promises and lies to get you to choose to live independently from God’s will.
  4. God is infinitely more powerful than Satan and all His demons combined. So there is absolutely no reason for you and I to fear them.
  5. God will help those who walk in obedience to Him, and who put their complete trust in Him by turning to Him in faith.
  6. God does not promise a problem-free life. Actually, He uses your problems to help you grow spiritually.
  7. Always remember this: what the devil doesn’t want you to know — but God DOES want you to know — is just how much God’s heart burns with love for YOU!
Why This Is Important:

It’s important that you realize this:

You are the “rope” in a Spiritual tug-of-war!

On one end, Satan and his demons are pulling you toward Hell, using everything in their bag of tricks to keep you from walking in obedience to God.

On the other end, God is working for your good to draw you to Himself, while at the same time respecting your free will.

The war between God and Satan is for YOUR SOUL!

The demons, as they always do, are exploiting the fact that God has given you a free will. They stop at nothing to disrupt, discourage, distract, and deflect you away from allowing God to be the Lord of your life.

The Scripture below is an example of what the devil does:

what the devil doesn't want you to know

Here is the entire Scripture passage:

3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3~4 rsv)

EXPLANATION: When people read the Bible and it seems to make no sense to them, that’s because of the devil. Somehow, he has the ability to “veil” their minds from the truth of what God wants everyone to know.

Does The Scripture Above Alarm You?

It alarms me, because of all the people I know who are not ready yet to step into eternity. Some think they are ready—but they may not be. Some don’t seem to care. Many have been beaten down by religion, and want nothing to do with anything associated with churches.

The Devil loves that! He so wants to keep you from understanding the Word of God.

Here’s one of the Scriptures where Jesus described what the Devil does:
Note the underlined text:

18 Hear then the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom (the Scripture read from the Bible) and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. (Matthew 13:18~19)

Take Action! Here’s How To Arm Yourself:

Decide NOW to walk in obedience to God. Begin NOW to equip yourself for spiritual warfare first by reading the practical, beneficial information I’m presenting here, and by equipping yourself for spiritual warfare by beginning to put God’s Word into your memory.

How To Defend Yourself

The articles linked below are filled with many more things that are very prominent on the list: “What The Devil doesn’t Want You To Know”

A Real-Life Example Of How Effective The Spoken Word Of God Is:

One of the reasons God allows troubles in our lives is so that we can show by way of our real-life examples how He works in the life of a believer. The Scripture below shows how God wants each of us to be an encouragement and a comfort to others:

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3~4)

Here is my own story of how God allowed me to be tested — twice. At first, I knew nothing about wisdom from the Bible. But the second time, I was able to stand against the devil. You’ll see how God has called me to “comfort others” just as He has comforted me:

Warning! Beware Of This Trap:

The Devil is likely putting thoughts into your mind right now, telling you to put off doing the things I’m urging you to do.
Or he’s telling you it’s all nonsense, or that it’s too much to read.
The devil will try to confuse you, or even to doubt the Truth of God’s Word!!
Don’t listen to that voice.
Those thoughts are all lies from the devil!
That’s how he manipulates us.

At this moment, the most dangerous word in your vocabulary is “tomorrow” (as in, “I’ll decide about that… tomorrow“.)

What I’ve done here is the equivalent of having a personal trainer show you all the types of training equipment and how to use them. But the trainer cannot do the workout for you.
Now you must decide: do you want to keep all your fears, anxieties, panic attacks, and nightmares?
Now it’s up to you.

Victory Over The Devil Is A Partnership With God!

Here is a short quote from another one of my articles, entitled, ” How To Defeat The Devil, As Demonstrated By Jesus . It makes the point that we must be in partnership with God in order to avail ourselves of His promises.

In many of our interactions with God, there is a part that we can do, and there is a part that only God can do. And until we do the part that we can do, God will not do the part that only He can do.

The book of James helps us to understand God’s “how to defeat the devil” strategy:

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

There are two separate thoughts here:
  1. Submit to God. Obey Him. That’s the part you and I must do first.
  2. Resist the devil. As God’s obedient disciple, His power operates through you.

Sadly, most people ignore the first part, and try to figure out how to “resist the devil” with their own strength. But they can’t do it.

what the devil doesn't want you to know

Now I want to share with you an excerpt from a devotional I’ve been re-reading for years. The author, Oswald Chambers, has a way of stripping away our pretenses to reveal our true condition that always opens my eyes to a better understanding of Scripture.

This excerpt is from his classic book, “My Utmost For His Highest”. I highly recommend that you get a copy and read a page every day. Here’s one of the links to Amazon.com where you can buy a copy.

The Authority Of Reality

“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)

It is essential to give people a chance of acting on the truth of God. The responsibility must be left with the individual, you cannot act for him, it must be his own deliberate act, but the evangelical message ought always to lead a man to act. The paralysis of refusing to act leaves a man exactly where he was before; when once he acts, he is never the same.

(From the devotional reading for November 4.)

Notice the phrases he used:
  • give people a chance of acting on the truth of God…
  • responsibility must be left with the individual…
  • message ought always to lead a man to act…
The word “paralysis” describes the condition many are in:
  • paralysis of refusing to act…
I am living proof that this next phrase is true:
  • when once he acts, he is never the same

I’ve quoted a preacher from long ago to help make this point:

“Begin learning the Bible so you can do what it says. Along the way, it will transform your life!”

There Is No Neutral Ground Here!

There are two spiritual kingdoms: Heaven and Hell.
Contrary to the popular culture, there is no third kingdom of “just me”.
With every thought, with every spoken word, and with every action (or sometimes inaction) we serve either Heaven or Hell.

Jesus said:

Whoever is not with Me is against Me…” (Matthew 12:30, Luke 11:23)

Everything Is A Test.

God has put before you a multiple-choice test. But notice this: He loves you so much that He’s also given you the correct answer:

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

So Now, You Must Decide About Two Things:
  1. BELIEF: Do you believe the things you’ve read here? Everything is based on the Truth of God’s Word. And I don’t mean just mental assent to a set of facts. I mean, “Is your belief a deeply-held conviction that you would die for?”
  2. IMPORTANCE: Is obeying God by beginning to put His Word into your mind and heart important to you? If it’s important to you, you’ll do it. If it’s not important to you, you won’t do it.
Here’s Your Part:
  • Just as nobody else can go to the gym and do your workout for you;
  • Just as nobody else can practice the piano for you;
  • In the same way, nobody else can undergo the discipline of learning to apply principles from the Bible for you.

Only you can make the decision to obey God and begin equipping yourself to have victory over the devil.

Getting Bible verses into you is not as hard or tedious as you might think either. Read my article: Memorize Bible Verses! Here’s How. Here’s what I do: I read each of the Scriptures I want to memorize ONCE EACH DAY!

Would you like some encouragement to get you motivated and to help you get started? Read my article: Persevere; Here’s What Will Happen. You’ll see how at first, it will seem like a discipline. But — and here’s the part you cannot see at first — you will begin to experience a desire for God’s Word. You’ll look forward to it. Keep on, and it becomes a DELIGHT! But as I said, you will see this only if you persevere.

Don’t Be A “Jellyfish Christian”!

The devil would like you to just drift along like a jellyfish does.

what the devil doesn't want you to know

Do you know what a jellyfish is like? In outward appearance, there is a certain beauty to them. But look at what they’re really like, and what they do:

  • They’re flimsy.
  • They’re weak.
  • They’re spineless; they have no backbone; they can’t stand up for anything.
  • They just drift along with the prevailing currents. You might say they “go with the flow”.
  • With their tentacles, they sting with venom whatever gets in their way.
  • With those same tentacles, they reach out and grab what they want.
  • You cannot negotiate or compromise with a jellyfish. They are creatures of instinct.

There are many people who identify themselves as Christians, but are a lot like that jellyfish.

“But…How Can We Know Who They Are?”
Note the underlined text:

3 “But…How Can We Know Who They Are?”

Here Is The Test:
What is your “instinctive reaction” when adversity strikes?
    • Do you respond with anger and venomous rage?
OR:
  • Do you respond by way of a gentle and quiet spirit?
My Friend,THAT IS THE TEST!
BECAUSE:
Where you go first is what you truly believe!
What Does God Want?
He wants us to live in harmony with His Word.
Examples:
Note the underlined text:

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

But instead, we nearly always “wrestle against flesh and blood”; we fight among ourselves.

26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil. (Ephesians 4:26-27)

Note the underlined text:

19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19~20)

  • quick to hear God’s point of view
  • slow to speak MY point of view
  • slow to anger — when my point of view differs from God’s point of view.

The more Scripture I know, the more God is able to use it to teach me, reprove me, correct me, and train me in regard to my own behavior. So, instead of giving “opportunity to the devil”, I’m giving “permission to God”!

Good plan, yes?
Make The Right Decision. Don’t Let The Devil Win!

This is very enlightening. I’m sure sir Morningstar would be impressed at these vain attempts to try and expose his plots, but his truest plans aren’t so easily realized by someone as fooled by the “Gospel” and the “Holy Word” as you all seem to be. I wasn’t tricked or lied to, I knew what I was in for and still I serve the Dark One. As far as I’m concerned, I’d rather be a member of his legions than a pawn in your God’s game.

    Ephesians 5: 15…..
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like the ignorantime people but like wise people. Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days. Don’t be fools, then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do. Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead be filled with the spirit. Speak to one another with the words of psalms, hymns and sacred songs: sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in your hearts. In the name of…

Jerry, I just happened to see your comment a few minutes after you wrote it. Here’s what I want you to do: open your Bible to Psalm 91. Read it through from beginning to end several times. Do the same with Psalm 139. Read these verses out loud, over and over. Also read and memorize these words: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Doing these things will quite your spirit. Satan has gotten you all tied up in knots of fear and anxiety. But when your mind is focused on God’s Word, the devil cannot touch you!

Well… that is what I am doing by writing these blog articles. The “cancer” is the unawareness of what our enemy is doing. The “cure” is showing readers how to use the “chemotherapy” of God’s Word to to kill the “cancer cells” (thoughts) that our enemy has caused us to have.

When I was in jail the Devil took over the body of someone else. This person screamed at me and insisted that he was the devil. Everyone was afraid of him including me. Someone told me that I should fight him but I didn’t. He then said that he has my soul. I’m terrified that I’m going to hell once I die. It’s all I’ve been thinking about. Is there any advice that you can give me?

Daniel, that must have been a terrifying experience. BUT… one thing to always remember: According to Jesus (John 8:44) there is NO truth in him (Satan and his demons) because he is a liar and the father of lies!! (I didn’t say that; Jesus said that!!)
So, if the encounter you described was actually Satan (or a demon) telling you he has your soul… Relax; the devil ALWAYS lies. Whatever thought he puts into your mind is the opposite of what that the Truth is. (…according to Jesus!!)

How, How many times have I cried out to God, How How many times have I forgiven those who have done me wrong to only have more calamity befallen me. I won’t go into the long drawn out story of my horrible life in a horrible family. I will spare that bore but I’m so sick of these feel good christians telling me that God never promised me a rose garden while they themsleves are in a rose garden!…

Hi, Lou. Did you know that the “theme” of suffering occurs through the New Testament?
God doesn’t promise a “rose garden in this life. He uses suffering as a way of causing endurance, character, and hope. Just as the “s*t*r*a*i*n” of lifting heavy weights produces stronger muscles; in the same way, God uses the “s*t*r*a*i*n” of suffering to strengthen your faith in Him. Actually (the devil does NOT want you to know this) the devil can give you the “rose garden” that the “feel-good” people are telling you about. YOU are on the best path! I know that, because you are here looking for answers from God’s Word!
Did you know that the Apostle Paul wrote some of his letters (which are now in the New Testament) He was under arrest in Rome? True. He was chained to a roman guard every day. But instead of complaining, Paul preached the Gospel to every on of them — and converted them to Christianity!

Lucky, How did you come to that conclusion? Do you not know that if Lucifer ( the former chief angel before he rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven) had not rebelled against God, and was cast out along with 1/3 of the angels; If they had not sinned against God, the human race wouldn’t even exist! Didn’t you know that? Satan (formerly named Lucifer ) HAS you, but Jesus died on a cross for YOU so that you could be with Him in heaven forever.
That being said, Jesus won’t force Himself upon you. He offers eternal salvation to you as a free gift. But you have to choose to accept His offer.

I asked God to help heal my temper when it came to my childrens choices or arguments with my husband. I feel like my father. I anger myself with the thought of it which produces no good fruit into the world. I begged God to reveal to me early morning yesterday “How to revert to Him and not give the wicked one what I know he wants, to allow me run to him and not give in. I didnt want him to win, but for God to win and rein over my life. I told him to show me the way. I told him the truth “that when I’m going through high tempered moments throughout the day, I don’t want to call on him cause I’d rather feed my anger”, and then I quickly regret it after and ask for forgiveness. I have found myself about to get out of control and with all my might I shout for Him to enter my body and release me of the devils grip and you know, he does exactly just that and even though I am slightly still angry, I have reassurance that the Lord is with me. Fully grasping this, I allow him to relieve me fully of all anger. God wins and I am a firm believer that God confirms prayers through the world, and I didn’t stumble across this post for just no reason. It was the guide I needed and the confirmation I needed. How I stumbled, I was reading my devotional and prayer plan on my YouVersion Bible app and I read a scripture that caught my attention. There I did a little more research on that scripture cause I fully wanted to understand it. Then here I am. I will save this and print out later on to keep on my wall. This post was perfectly explained and not only was it spot on, but it spoke directly to my soul. Thank you friend! Thank you for comforting this sister of yours! I will use these strategies religiously and apply them to my daily life. It will be a constant reminder. I’m at the point in my life where I refuse to allow the devil to boast using me, my husband, and children. Prayers to you and yours, I request prayers for me and my family as well because we all could use it. My children are experiencing horrible dreams, even as dark as dreaming of the devil himself telling one of them they need to kill someone, I have 2 of them with suicidal thoughts, and the others who fear the devil will come to them in the flesh. Please pray, my kids are so young, I feel that since we’ve turned to God and are getting real close with him, the enemy is targeting us harder then he ever has before.

I just want to say thank you so much for this article. I woke up about an hour before finding this from a dream I believe the devil visited me in. He was asking me to go with him & as I was trying to speak to him & tell him no I could only whisper & it was very difficult for me to get my words out. In the dream I went to talk to my mom about him coming to me but could again only whisper when talking about him. Then he appeared in her room & as I felt him coming towards us, for the first time I could not only speak but I YELLED out Gods name twice then said God is good, not only in my dream but in real life as well. The devil vanished from my dream and I woke up from the terrible experience crying & shaking. I called my mom to talk about the experience and she spoke to me about trying to pray more & that as long as I keep saying His name he will be there to help me. Just as you stated, I was using God as my weapon when fighting satan. Your words & the scriptures you have posted helped me calm down & think of more ways I can arm myself from satan & keep walking in faith with the Lord!

Jessica, thank you for writing. You have just added your “voice” to the conversation about standing against the “schemes of the devil”. As you saw, I always make sure to back up everything I say with strong support from the Word of God. Then, when the critics come against what I have write (and believe me, they do) I can say, “I’m not saying it. The Bible is saying it.” So thanks for sharing your victory with us! Together, we all stand stronger against the kingdom of darkness. And please – if you know others who are under Satan’s influence, share this wisdom from God with them.

Hi, I wrote this article for Christian’s struggling with hearing evil voices and protecting their mind and safeguarding their faith in God and Jesus Christ.  Please read and if you feel it can help other Christian’s that visit your website then please feel free to post.  You can make any minor changes or additions you feel will help.  God Bless You.     How Christian’s Protect Mind & Faith While Hearing evil Spirits Inside Their Head  And Outside The Body.  Hearing Voices That Torture The Mind  This is written for Christian’s struggling with hearing evil spirits inside and outside the body, and hearing voices that torture the mind.  How to break the cycle of responding to and communicating. evil will arrange their words, sentences, and manipulate syntax, to use all their speech to cast evil spells, vex, and curses. THIS contains the SECRET to protect losing your mind, guard your faith, and safeguard your belief in God and Jesus Christ. After reading this you will EASILY recognize and understand the child-like plan evil uses.  YOU will be able to protect your mind, sanity, and relationship with God and Jesus Christ. There are people, living, that have the ability to make and control their spirit to leave their body and travel to and invade another body.  HOW and WHY evil communicates This is how evil uses communication to completely Warp your mind, brainwash you, and destroy your faith in Christianity. evil will arrange their words, sentences, and manipulate syntax,  to use all their speech to cast spells, vex, and curses. Psychopaths, sociopaths, sadists, narcissists, sums up types of evil people.  Some chose to turn away from God and Jesus Christ and turn to darkness.   They now are evil and will use evil power against you.  REMEMBER, one of the things they want is negative attention, like a little child throwing a temper tantrum. They want to Start a dialogue with you that NEVER ENDS and repeats OVER AND OVER again  John 10:10.    Matthew 7:15  PURPOSE AND MOTIVATION of evil My chart EXPOSES the child-like game that is used. It is a abuse cycle that has 2 phases used OVER and OVER AGAIN. Meaning it starts at phase 1, moves to phase 2, then moves back to phase 1 and then phase 2. So it just repeats OVER and OVER AGAIN, like a broken record. evil likes to torture for purpose of fun, to feel emotional pleasure and satisfaction because it’s the only way they can derive pleasure.  evil achieves these feelings by infliction of pain and suffering, and anguish. They feel the need to develop and maintain control over people and every situation.  What they fear the most is 3 things. 1) Losing control over people and situations they are controlling or trying to control. 2) Being exposed and people discovering that they don’t feel regret, remorse, sympathy, happiness, attachment, intimacy, love. Nothing.  They learn to almost expertly fake human emotions to blend in and to manipulate victims. 3) They fear being abused themselves.  John 10:10   GOALS OF EVIL evil will seduce, manipulate, coerce, lie, decieve, distort, lead you in opposite direction, abuse, bluff you,  Attempt to brainwash you and re-condition you evil will arrange their words, sentences, and manipulate syntax, to use all their speech to cast spells, vex, and curses. Also for mind programming. Attempt to break your mind, lose your sanity, and grip on reality Attempt to abuse you and exploit your emotions. Attempt to destroy your faith and move you away from God and Jesus Christ Attempt to get you to agree to accept evil power Attempt to make you agree to make a satanic deal to sell your soul, body, spirit, and any or all Powers you received from God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Attempt to make you agree to join them, then they take control of you, train and employ you, and have you do the same to others.   evil will attempt to get proof of your crimes and threaten you so you never will be able to leave.  Attempt to trap you, make you a slave, then use you for any purpose (John 10:10) Attempt to convince you your God or Jesus Christ in the flesh so you no longer worship God.  Exodus 20:3               Attempt to use the same temptation used in the garden of eden by the serpent to deceive you to think you can be like God. Genesis 3:5 Attempt to make you commit the same sin as Lucifer.  Isaiah 14:12-15 Attempt to convince you that evil really means good and good really means evil Attempt to convince you to commit suicide, or convince you to commit murder, or some serious crime. Attempt to make you believe Jesus Christ is not the son of God and that Jesus Christ is really God.  John 3:16  1 John 4:15 Attempt to trick you to give your body up by them trying to coerce you to learn or teach you to control your spirit to leave your body then they will take your body away from you and worse. 2 PHASE CHILD-LIKE ABUSE CYCLE Honeymoon PHASE – used only once There are only 2 Abuse cycles they repeat OVER and OVER 1) Abuse Phase – subtle and really obvious and serious abuse. 2) Rescuer Phase – abuse that is almost undetectable and covert abuse. Fake bonding. They smooth talk you to Gain compliance, cooperation, obedience, trust Matthew 12:34    1st PHASE – ABUSE This phase will use subtle abuse and escalate to serious abuse.    Use MAKE-BELEIVE CHARACTERS  of PERCIEVED authority to bluff  you and create MAKE-BELEIVE  SCENARIOS AND SITUATIONS.  They alternate MAKE-BELIEVE  CHARACTERS and the MAKE BELIEVE REALITIES to maximize  abuse. Also using reverse Psychology to force you to choose the option they want when they can’t normally force you to do what  they want.   2nd PHASE – RESCUER Stockholm syndrom/Fake bonding/Trauma bonding.   Rescuer, Mentor, Cheerleader, Playing The Victim,  They reduce tension, stress, anxiety and move to being     supportive to play the helper, protector, cheerleader,  counselor, to started the brainwash cycle of obtaining  your trust, confidence, compliance. Then you subconsciously believe they have rescued you or helped you or helped you out of the situation they created in the in the 1st place. They also call this the hurt and rescue principle where they’re responsible for throwing you off the boat into dangerous waters and now they throw you a buoy. Simply switching from the abuser to the rescuer.  This cycle of switching back-and-forth between abuser and rescuer will continue OVER and OVER AGAIN until they attempt to achieve their goal. They will sometimes stay in this phase for different periods  of time, sometimes short, sometimes long,  They want to create fake bonding.  Typically this phase has very sneaky and overt abuse tactics, mind warping that sometimes goes undetectable.    REMEBER, this phase is about subtle abuse that it is often not recognized and to paint the picture that someone has entered the picture that is now your protector, mentor, guardian, long lost friend, rescuer.  Matthew 12:34 Isaiah 5:20 ***REMEMBER, There are only 2 Abuse cycles repeated OVER and OVER and Only 9 make-believe characters that alternate back and forth.  The 9 MAKE-BELIEVE CHARACTERS OF PERCIEVED AUTHORITY TRUST GAINING (RESCUER PHASE) 1) The Cheerleader Compliments, flattery supporting statements, ego building kindness,  acting amazed when you speak or do something unamazing.  This is simply to start the trauma  trauma and mind warp you  into forming a fake, sick, emotional bond. They want to pretend their on your side like their championing you. TRUST GAINING (RESCUER PHASE) 2) The Protector, Defender, Rescuer Helper false made up concern and caring  used in interactions to exploit trust They do this to subconsciously condition your belief system to trust them, their  percieved authority. NOTE : Be on the lookout for a new character who suddenly arrives that portrays goodness and this character will ask you questions that you already answered but this is just another make-beleive character made up by evil to keep the conversation going on OVER AND OVER again. It is a pattern of a never ending dialogue Of answering questions and communicating With them to reinforce the pattern of Continuously responding to them when they talk. TRUST GAINING (RESCUER PHASE) 3) The Questioner, Interviewier Questioning can be used as as form of control in communication. It is also used for fake bonding. evil will attempt to catch you off guard by surprise questions, to  bait you into a NEVER ENDING  dialogue where your answering questions, many  times to put you on the defensive as well  as to distract you.  As children we are taught to obey authority and answer questions when asked. evil exploits this  principle.  The other intentions  evil has is to to profile your personality They want to keep you in a pattern of  responding OVER and OVER AGAIN. TRUST GAINING (RESCUER PHASE) 4) The Victim/Helpless  Faking The victim and sympathy, They must always feel in in control and dominant. They want you to feel pity for them, by suggesting and playing the role of  someone being victimized when really it is you who is the victim. They are playing on your normal  human emotion of wanting to help and comfort another person in  need. they thrive on negative attention.  evil will arrange their words, sentences,  and manipulate syntax, to use all their  speech to cast evil spells, vex, and curses  MIND WARPING – COVERT ABUSE 5) Storyteller, Narrator Controlling your mind by painting a  picture of your expected future behavior. Telling the way things are  that you do not see or realize to  create trust and blind dependence. Also they want to control and shape your reality by poisoning  your mind and grasp on reality by telling you things are not real,  the reality you see or live in is not  real, and make you believe your in some other reality. Shape, mold, and control your  behavior, thinking, and view of reality.  MIND WARPING – COVERT ABUSE 6) The Counselor, Psychologist,  Advisor, The Mentor, The Teacher,  Expert  Induce concious and subconscious  internal conflict in your mind, make you doubt and have self doubt. Ask you if your okay or alright  in ways that try to induce  paranoia, fear, anxiety, stress, and  cause mental disorder, and loss of  coping skills. Projecting fear with their vocal tone, patterns of speech,  and use  brainwashing language such as N.L.P. Sometimes when you answer questions evil will make it seem like they do not believe your answers and put you through a fake verification process.    PUNISHMENT, CONTROL (ABUSE PHASE) 7)The Control Freak, Micromanager,  The Critic Telling you what to do,nit pick, humiliation,  make up rigid rules both small an big for you  to follow because they have to establish control   over you and power. This is undercover abuse. Shape, mold, and control your behavior, thinking,  view of reality, evil will arrange their words,   sentences, and manipulate syntax, to use all  their speech to cast evil spells, vex, and curses   PUNISHMENT,CONTROL (ABUSE PHASE) 8) The Persecutor, Prosecutor,  The Critic, The Bulley criticize, ridicule, belittle, destroy, self esteem, keep you on the defensive,   accusing, slander, they label you,  insult you, use curse and humilitian Setting rules to control and abuse abuse. Shape, mold, and control your behavior, thinking, view of reality,  Setting rules to control and abuse.  evil will arrange their words, sentences,  and manipulate syntax,  to use all their speech to cast evil spells, vex, and curses.   PUNISHMENT,CONTROL (ABUSE PHASE) 9) The Punisher, Torturer, Tormentor Threaten to send someone to kill you,   threaten to kill you, death threats of family,   friends, and loved ones to make you feel fear,  anxiety, panic, stress, and unsafe. Telling you  there is poison in your food, in the water. Shape, mold, and control your behavior, thinking, view of reality. evil will arrange their  words, sentences, and manipulate syntax to use all their speech to cast evil spells, vex,  and curses.  BASIC AND NATURAL HUMAN EMOTION ABUSE evil will provoke, use, exploit, manipulate, distort these BASIC and NATURAL human Emotions to produce abuse, trauma, mental breakdown and torture psychologically, spiritually, socially, emotionally  Love, Care, Trust, Joy, Happy, Excited, Surprise, Anger, Sad, Pride, Fear, Rage, Shame, Neglect, Self Esteem, Ego, Safety and Security  Then make evil offers, evil bargains,   evil aggrements, evil negotiations, and satanic deals.  Shape, mold, and control your behavior, thinking, view of reality, evil will arrange their words, sentences, and manipulate syntax, to use all their speech to cast evil spells, vex, and curses. PROTECT THE 4 REAL EMOTIONS evil IS AFTER There are 4 EMOTIONS evil really wants to attack is 1), to have you in a state of complete fear, 2), cause you to doubt yourself, your own thoughts, judgements, opinions, beliefs, 3), make you feel hopeless to the point that there’s no reason to go on, and 4), attempt to make you lose faith or belief in God and Jesus Christ. They want to destroy Christians and everything relating to Christianity. 1) Fear 2) Doubt 3) Loss of Hope 4) Faith/Belief     SOLUTIONS Now you can RECOGNIZE and EASILY understand how the abuse is being done.  Knowing this will give you the knowledge to guard and protect yourself. Next step is to STOP all communication with them.  STOP answering questions and speaking in any way to them. That means in your thoughts or speaking outloud.  NO RESPONDING, NOTHING. YOU are taking back control. 1) Pray to God and also talk to Jesus Christ asking for help.  Pray to God asking for spiritual protection, wisdom, and knowledge. 1 Corinthians 12:8-11  Ephesians 6:10-18 2) Read the Holy Bible and find verses that comfort you when you become stressed. TRUST the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 3) If you own any possessions that represent evil, witchcraft, or satanic items, you MUST throw them all away.   4) Speak with your Christian friends for support and comfort and talk freely with them because all of you have the same beliefs 5) Go to a Christian Church and talk to the Pastor and tell him what your going through, ask for his advice, and ask him to pray with you. 6) Do not have friends or hang out with people that are non-beleivers.  Choose wisely the friends you keep and trust.  7) Make sure your going to Church every Sunday and if you have time, even the Wednesday night Bible Study as well.    evil will continue to speak to you non stop.  they will give you the impression without saying you should be happy I’m here to talk to you and I’m here so you might as well talk back to me. Make no mistake, this is evil your dealing with.  it is not a game or something to be taken lightly. They will also play off any feelings of loneliness and communication needs you have that are not being met. Under no circumstances make jokes or laugh with remeber these people are not human and their predators looking for their next victim to abuse. Matthew 7:15

Priscah , thanks for writing. It would seem that very few pastors preach on this topic, so most Christians are unaware of Satan’s influence in our lives. The Word of God is the one thing in this world that Satan cannot control. But he knows how to influence our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. So, once we know the Truth, the more we learn to identify and disregard what the devil and his demons are trying to get us to think, the more we will be able to live in peace and victory!

This is my first time here and this forum is a blessing for me as I’m sure it is others. Yes I’m sure we can all get wrapped up in the devil. Will I still have my mustard seed faith (and still growing) their are times when we can get off guard and slip. Sure we can go thru all types of trails in our life but knowing God and his Son Jesus one has a better prospective to face the wiles of the devil. As of this first writing I just want to listen and learn more and being exposed to this forum plus my bible readings I’m sure it will be a worth wile happening. … Blessings.

Saddles, I find that it takes a constant awareness of the fact that the spiritual realm is having such an influence on what we see and experience in this world.
But I also notice that the more I choose to keep my focus on this conflict between the spiritual realm and the natural realm, the easier it gets.

Hello Jan, this was very powerful. I would love for prayer… I struggle very bad with Anxiety. It’s so bad that I don’t sleep right my mind is always in a fog. I have always had a hard time learning, but I know and believe the Lord can help me through this in my life. I have been through alot growing up and I. 27 years old now married to a Godly man and I just wanna be as strong as he is in my walk. I feel and I know it has to be Satan lieng to me that I am not smart enough to walk with Jesus because I have a hard time retaining information, but I want that to be broken over myself. Satan is a total lier and I’ve allowed him to put up strong holds in my mind that I need broken. I know It’s the Word of God. I was abused growing up by my mom’s ex husband and he was my step dad. My biological Father left when my mom was 8 months pregnant with me and I had to cope not having a Godly father. I was brought up in the Church because my mom never ceased to take us every Sunday, but still every day of the weak was hell at home. She home schooled I and my half siblings, but wasn’t there to help me learn I didnt do 3rd, 4th or 5th grade while home schooled in 6th grade was put into a charter school… We lived out in the middle of nowhere in Az and 5 of us kids without parental vision half the time and me being the eldest who had to cook and all other things just made me feel alone and hopless. I love my mom don’t get me wrong. I just felt abandoned and unloved as a child. I didn’t get hugs and kisses and she even told me that she was going to abort me untill God put it in her heart to give me Life. I know Jesus saved me and brought me into this World and He is the one that will pull me through my hurts, but I also felt spiritually abused. When I was 16 my mom moved all I and my siblings out here to Pennsylvania to remarry and to a pastor. I was put on the Worship team because I do have the gift of singing. My mom had demons as we were going through that faze of my life because her ex (abuser)before my step dad now (pastor) did alot of terrible things. My mom had also at the age of 15 left home and got married to her first husband because of things that were happening to her at home by uncles. It made me sad knowing this and having to help my mom during her delivarance not knowing anything about demons at age 16. All I know is they hated me singing and that the Word of God spoken was definitely Kryptonite to them. I have been dealing with doubt in myself because I just feel not smart enough and it’s bothersome. Anyways sorry this is so long. I just wanted to explain a little bit about myself. This article was great and again I’d love prayer. Much love in Jesus name.

Jordan, thanks for that message. Well now, having read the article, now you know what you can do. Now you know the true source of your anxiety.
And realize this: your biological father was being manipulated by the devil when he left you and your mom behind. That’s not an excuse, but it explains what really was going on. Wouldn’t it be great if you could somehow help him to know these truths too. If you can, try to forgive him. The Bible teaches us to forgive others just as Christ forgave us.

Jordan, bless you sister, what strength and hope I hear in your story. You mentioned deliverance with your mom, and your exactly right about demons – they oppress and harass. There’s a deliverance team in AZ “AZ House of Healing” if you still live there, or you can find them online, YouTube even for self deliverance, along with A and B Counseling. I’ve done self delivery of my pesky demons and it works amazingly. Demons nature is cruel but they’re all defeatable, yay! Prayed for you, love you!!! Get free (John 10:10, Luke 10:19) by your authority under Christ. Many blessings

Before I read this I had no perspective in life I’m only 16 years old looking for the word of god so I can learn the guidance so I can live a happy life in my life a lot of hard obstacles have been put in my way first my dad leaving to Mexico when I was 8 and being taken away from my mother when I was 12 and one of the worst ones is seeing my cousin changing in a sort of way he believes in the devil and he prays for him and I just can’t see him go through his life in doubt that he doesn’t believe in god . And in his own words he told me that god just wasn’t for him and that just brought me down to thinking he has to go through his life like this and I just question him and he just keeps saying that god is not for him and he says the devils prayer to give him a better perspective in life . I need some help finding my way to god cause I wanna live happy. And see the people I love happy too

Victor, my heart really goes out to you.
I’ve discovered that the best goal for this life is to learn to be at peace even during the “storms” of life. Those bad situations and obnoxious people will always be there.
Paul the Apostle prayed over and over for people he loved. Jesus prayed repeatedly for those He loved. Those and others are models for us to follow.
I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, but sadly, that’s the way life is. The devil has been very effective at poisoning the hearts of most people.
So as you pray, do so knowing that your prayer is in perfect harmony with God’s will for your cousin.

Before i say what I say I want people to know that I do believe and Jesus and I know that he is my savior, but is the devil really evil? I know that curiosity killed the cat but i just need to know. A lot of times I feel that the devil is misjudged and is treated unfairly, like what if God/Jesus just let know a little. Is there more information that we could know. Either way I know that Jesus will not lose to the devil and that I will not give up on Jesus, but still I’m curious to know more about the devils life.

Princesa, am I ever glad you raised that question about the devil! It just so happens that I recently published an article here, entitled
PERFECT Was Not Good Enough. This article is the first in a series of articles that will show how — a perfect being living in a perfect place — nevertheless fell into the trap of pride. He wanted to be god. Almighty God was (and always will be) way ahead of any and all of His creatures.
Wait til you see how God is actually using us humans to demonstrate His power and ability — before He casts Satan and his demons — along with humans who refuse the free gift of salvation — into the lake of fire!

Hey Jan Smith , I lived in total fear that I was not going to live a long life but today me and my 2 grandmas and my aunt prayed for me to live a long life and live it peacefully. The Devil keeps robbing my faith but he can’t because I am god’s property and I know he is a liar and God only brings thoughts of hope, peace and life. I am no longer scared or fearful that I am going to die. I now know that we prayed that god is going to bless me with a very long, peaceful life here on earth. If you could pray for me as well, it would be apprieciated. I live in peace now knowing that god is going to let me live a very long time. Thank you for sharing this ! God Bless you !

      Hi, Ted,
What you are describing is exactly the kind of thing the devil does to people. He wants you to feel demoralized and depressed and with a sense of hopelessness. The devil put all of those feelings into you. He can’t kill you directly, but he can get you to kill yourself — perhaps by smoking.

Ive been reading more than about God and trying to study about him and Jesus to get closer to him. Seems like the more I try to do good the more angry I get. I would love to change my life completely around but I also have things in my way that I wish I could get to follow my lead as in my boyfriend ….i mention things all the time to him to see where his head is at with this I wish he would try to get closer to God with me but he never wants to talk about it he just says he grew up around the bible and I can’t really make him do anything…i try to get all my loved ones to follow me but no one listens. I just need guidance I really want to change and stop living in so much negativity and focus more on important things. I have so many questions that I need answered I don’t think this comment space is enough lol….

      Hi, Alisha,
Your desire to get closer to God is very pleasing to Him. So is your desire to change your life.
Your choice of leading by example is exactly right. And I share your frustration over others in your life who just don’t want any part of what they likely consider to be “dead religion”. That same thing is going on in some who are close to me.
All of your feelings and frustrations have been carefully brought about by what the Bible calls “the schemes of the devil”. The goal of Satan and his demons is to deceive you — and all those around you — by tricking you into thinking of all the turmoil and adversity in life as just “stuff that happens”. They don’t want you to know that they even exist. If they can’t pull that off, they want to arrange your thinking so that you will NEVER even think of them as having anything to do with your problems.
You wrote: “I try to get all my loved ones to follow me but no one listens.” I can almost hear Jesus saying to you, “Welcome to My earthly ministry!” I’m certain that the Apostle Paul would say the same thing, as would the other apostles. But they kept doing what they were called to do, and look at the result. We need to follow their example.

I grew up in the church and it seemed like I was always interested and wanted to learn more about god, as I grew older things started to change. Bad descisions and thoughts of doubt have clouded my mind and judgement to where I almost can’t go to church anymore, when I read the Bible it’s like I don’t understand any of it and like I am picking it apart or looking for something unbelievable. I found this page while googling a movie quote, and felt lead to read the article. The whole time I was reading it, it felt like I was resisting or looking for a reason to stop, but I pressed forward. After reading all the way through, I believe that I am going to read on gods word, and try to plant myself in church again. I hope that someone else reads this and gets the same message that I have from it, it’s like my eyes have been opened to what has been going on with my life. Every sentence every quote hit home and was like it was meant for me, thank you for writing this!

    Hello All!
Last week I was a victim of fear. I was afraid to leave the house, drive, go to work! In fear that “something” would happen to me! I would have panic attacks and cry and shake in fear! It was terrible. I went to church ( Lakewood ) with pastor Joel Osteen and started to really get into the word of God. I saw a Christian counselor and got help from family. I prayed and prayed. Today, I can tell you I have made a 360!! I am not rebuking every though the devil tries to give me about doubt, fear, discouragement, loneliness, confusion, and false panic feelings! They are all FAKE! The devil is a liar! He tried to take my mind and my life! He tired to take my joy and my peace! Those are gifts from God and he will NEVER take them from me!! I am not a spiritual warrior!! I am so much stronger! I thank God so much for his Word and for all of the Christians around me that have helped me! I praise God every day and will never stop. God bless anyone going through this. I love you!!

      Hi, Martha,
Read the opening part of the gospel of Mark, where Jesus heals a man with a demon. This man would cut himself with stones.
Here is a link, if you want to read it online: Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon
Also, Paul’s epistles teach how our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. For instance:

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Satan and his demons would love for you to cut yourself. God wants you to be a temple of the Holy spirit. Ask God for help. When the demon-possessed man in Marks Gospel cried out to Jesus, Jesus delivered.him. He will do the same for you.

It’s not complicated at all, Martha. Just get alone and talk to God. He’s right there with you RIGHT NOW. He knows where your “heart” is, and He’d love for you to ask Him for forgiveness and for strength to resist the devil. Tell Him what you just wrote.
That may seem silly, because of course God already knew what you are longing for. But the thing is, when you cry out to Him, then He knows the YOU know.
I think sometimes that churches make it seem so much more complicated. Try what I said, and ask God to send His Holy Spirit into your heart. You’ll know when that hapens, and you will feel genuine peace.

    hi Jan,
my issue is this, I met a lady when I was pursuing my Higher National Diploma in 2009 and promised to marry her. I was a Christian by then but I was living my life in the world and was living on alcohol, gambling, lies, pornography, fornication, etc. But in 2015 I gave my whole life to Jesus and by the grace of God through his son Jesus Christ all these attitudes have stopped except the fornication. anytime her thoughts come into my mind is like I should visit her and commit this old act of fornication again and sometimes it happen so.I now understand that fornication is great sin but sometimes before I realise I’m doing this thing with the same lady again. what do I do to totally abstain from having sexual relation with her . help me

Hi, Patrick. Thanks for asking for help. Here are some things we can state for sure”

      • Your battle is taking place in your mind.
      • Satan and his demons want you to continue in sin. Their goal is to make you miserable in this life, and ultimately to win your soul ffor eternity in the kingdom of hell.
      • Because this is a supernatural problem, the only way to get victory is with a supernatural solution. For, as you already know, you cannot do it on your own by “trying harder”!
      • God has provided the solution to help you control what comes into your mind.
      • This isn’t a “quick-fix” thing. And you have a part in the process.

If you haven’t done so, read my article “How To Banish Unwanted Thoughts

Here are some helpful Scriptures for you:

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Galatians 524)

If you will read the article, and do what God is telling you by way of His Word, the supernatural power of God’s Word becomes the gatekeeper of your mind.

Let me know how it’s going!

You will get resistance but do not give up because God will win everytime He fights our battles. The truth is Gods Word. I have faith in you all. We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:37. I just ask the Holy Spirit to remove these thoughts in His Holy name Jesus and He does every time so faithful. Look at the verse philipians 4:8 I beg you guys please watch what you watch, what you read, what you hear because its crucial to protect your open gates. Hey guys just say if your around profanity JESUS never said that and find a verse that Jesus said no unwholesome word come out of your mouth or empty words will be judged. This is a battle guys its not a gameeeeeeee. Please learn scripture God has helped me learn scripture so I have not learned new scripture which is very nerve wracking but with God all things are possible. It will take diligence and practice also patience. You can do this guys. Pray for me while you are in my prayers. Father God thank you for using Jan your servant you have used him so mightly. Please help us all who battle every day that we use YOUR PRECIOUS WORD everytime we deal with bad thoughts. like YOUR WORD IN 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5 THAT WE DO NOT WRESTLE AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD BUT WITH PRINCIPILITES OF DARKNESS. HELP US SUBMIT OUR THOUGHTS TO OBIENCE TO JESUS ( YOUR WORD) I FEEL YOU MEAN CAST IT DOWN TO MAKE IT OBEDIENCE TO YOUR WORD SINCE JESUS YOUR SON IS THE WORD OF GOD. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING US. “The devil needs God’s permission before he can do anything” is a BS statement. Tell me then why would God let someone rape and kill an innocent child?

Steve, do you realize that you are calling Jesus a liar? In the Gospel of Luke He said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat” (Luke 22:31). And in Revelation, Jesus told John to write: “And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. (Revelation 12:10)
Also, do you not recall how God sent (allowed) “… a thorn in the flesh… a messenger of Satan” to buffet him. But God said in so many words, “I won’t take your trial away, but I will join yo in the trial”.
There is not one thing that the devil can do that God hasn’t signed of on. Nothing happens that God has not foreseen and allowed.

Here is something you was born with Fear and it’s the first weapon the devil has used against you. Think about it. How many times has fear stopped you from doing something.Afraid of this and that and it all started with your own mother who while you was still in her womb feared the pain of having you , Why because others who had already given birth had so much pain and they pasted thier fear on to your mother about how much pain it would bring. They put the fear in her and through her to you.To give you a clue take a look at your past life , when you were born your parents started telling you to look out for this watch it you might get hurt. Fear the stranger fear the cars fear the food fear what you might drink or the gril friend or boy friend the hot water the sun the darkness you keep it going for yourself . The devil is your fear master the ruler of your world of fear.He uses it to take away your Joy. Your Love Peace and Joy. He uses it to destroy your joy in life . I believe the answer to suicide is get the fear out of the ones who are affected by it. Why do they do it out of fear of what they can’t see in the future, being found out about something one might have done . They don’t think they have a life a head , they can’t do with out someone it all goes back to what they fear that kills their joy and with out it they take their life’s. How bad is that. Real bad .God gives life and it’s not their right to take it away. God’s all about eternal life , the devil is all about eternal hell. I myself because of the pain I suffer had it in mind many of times in the past but I always thought what if what if I did where would I go to hell or heaven ? Think before you act. I see it this way , if I commit murder upon myself then I am sure going to were I don’t want to be eternal hell. The devil will chalk up one more point for him . The devil loves every life that he can take away from God who he hates. The greatest weapon is his fear and it has lots of ammo and it is loaded with fear. Be like God who has no fear. Am I right or do you not know? The night the devil attacked me just days ago I did not fear him and by the name of the Lord I stood up and faced my enemies of fear the devil and his demons who have spread fear all over this world of fear we live in . All nations live in fear of each other and what they might be up to .Fear rules this world and the master ruler is the master of fear he created it for his weapon against the whole world and you are apart of it.Go to the Book of no fear the Bible Gods Word to over come what you fear and replace it with Love Peace And Joy and get on with your life .What do you have to lose ? Your life if you don’t. Let this be your way out of the darkness the valley of death and destruction of your life. Please dont walk through life with the evil devil of Fear.Free yourself with the Love Peace And Joy God Has For You At The End Of Your Walk through the Devils valley of death until you come through to the light of Jesus Christ your savior who will chose you to be in His Army a brave worrier who faced evil head on. Now put on the whole armor of God and fight the devil of fear , defeat him and his demons that spread fear all over. Been through the darkness valley of death , been there and done that here on this fallen earth full of what you feared the enemy in Vietnam most of you were not even born most likely and don’t have a clue The fear of God is what will save you from death the fear of the devil will put you to death take your life away if you let it. People die of fear and they fear dying. It’s all about FEAR. God Bless All who live in fear and the ones who don’t are Blessed By God. GI John .a worrier for them and now a worrier for God .I am a 22 yr Vet who served in the Combat Infantry for those who were in FEAR. Now I Serve as a worrier in the Army of God Which has over come what I feared dying don’t you all ? God says fear not for I am with you , does He not. Look and see for yourself self don’t take my word for it or are you in fear of finding it out to be true.It Is period !

this has been such a blessing to me. ive had seeds of fear planted throughout my life …and each time I have gotten stronger…but what got me this time is the fear of leaving my love one. just panic, aniexty, fear, doubt came over me out of no where …and that’s how I new it was the devil, even when you mentioned he uses parts of the truth to confuse you and even tries to turn God word against me and the situation. but when I red this this gave me confidence and strength. thank you for letting Jesus use you.

Bravo, Lindsey! You knew how was in the background jamming you with all that stuff.
And you mentioned how the devil will mix a little bit of truth with his lies. That’s like putting poison into your coffee. Just as you cannot longer separate the coffee from the poison, you cannot separate the lies from the truth. The whole message from the devil becomes a lie. And usually, the only way you can tell whether or not it’s a lie is to know enough of the Word of God to realize that this particular thought or intention is not in harmony with God’s Word. And He will give you strength to choose the better action.

Read my article How To Banish Unwanted Thoughts and do what I recommend. There is no “quick fix” for this, but if you continue to put God’s thoughts into your mind instead of allowing the devil to put his thoughts into your mind, gradually you will see that you can be free from thous things that are not God honoring thoughts and intentions.

I’ve read the article and it speaks volume. All the things you’ve stated the devil will do, i’m currently experiencing. I’ve been speaking scripture aloud but it seems as if God is still allowing the devil to win. I’ve memorized/understand/spoke a lot of scripture since I was a child. I understand i’m experiencing a spritual welfare and I’m starting not to trust God and his word.
How can I continue to trust God when “he” has given the devil permission to attack my mind in such evil manner. God said, “no weapon formed against me shall prosper.” He has allowed the weapon to form and it has prospered due to me no longer having trust. Why does God give the devil permission to only disrupt the lives of the true believers, those that pray often, who are trying to obey his commandments, and speak the word to those that have no spirtual guidance . I understand God is trying to get our attention and wants to store treasures for us for our eternal life. It would be wise for God to try and get the attention of those that don’t care about his commandements but instead he punish/disrupts their lives in no way. They basically experience no suffering or heart ache and pain. I pay my tithes/offerings faithfully and joyfully, I’m a blessing to others (not being boastful or doing things just to receive something in return). I love eveyone and try to find positivity in every way but i’m drained now. I’ve delighted myself in him, I try and speak good into existence, I fast and pray, i’m thankful and continue to give thanks for what I have but when I petition my request for more God has allowed the devil to take away and give me a no response. I often feel like Job but i’ve started to curse God because i’ve grown weary in well doing and praying without ceasing is returning unto me void. Why petition my request to God and pray in Jesus name when he’s only going to give you what he wants you to have and “not” the desires of your heart. Where is God when he’s giving the devil permission to allow evil doers to kill and harm innocent babies, children and animals. God isn’t providing protection or covering them with his blood.
I feel betrayed and disappointed in God because he’s giving the devil permission to do all these negative things. This draws me further away from God because he’s working with the devil so why should I continue to trust God. I’m so drained and have a lackluster response in wanting to continue to have faith.

Toya, your feelings that you are having are understandable, given the burden your are carrying. Let me see if I can put some light on this for you.
As to the question of “why??”, I know that God does this to strengthen a person whom He knows He can use for His purposes. When I was first going through difficult trials, I also asked :Why??!!” and “how long??”. It wasn’t until I began to ask, “What” that I began to get answers. When I was experiencing total financial collapse for the second time, I knew enough do ask God, “”What are you trying to teach me? What do you want me to learn from this? What do you. want me to do?”. When I began to ask like that, God began to answer.
I know what you mean about others who seem to be getting a nice, comfortable free ride with no troubles at all. I used to wish for that, but now I see it as god sees it. Namely, they are absolutely no threat to the devil, so the kingdom of hell — being limited and thus they must pick their battles carefully — the demons are deployed elsewhere, against those who love Jesus, are growing in His Word, and beginning to “bear fruit” for God.
Right now, the Olympic Games are going on in Rio. Imaging the pain, anguish, and discipline those athletes are under.
Now, think of your trials as training for another kind of “Olympics”. Suppose someone made you get up early every morning, and you had to lift heavy weights and run a lot or swim a lot or perform very difficult gymnastic disciplines — but you had no idea you were training for the Olympic games, how would that feel? You’d be miserable. Lots of strain with seemingly no purpose. But then one day, you were sent to the Olympic games — and you won a medal!
In Hebrews 12, God talks about discipline:

5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons [and daughters]?

“My son {daughter}, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? (Hebrews 12:5~7)

A little farther down in that chapter He says:

11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11)

When I encounter people who say their live are completely trouble-free, that’s about the worst news I can hear. It means they are absolutely no threat to the kingdom of hell. The devil may even help them to prosper in the things of this world, because he know he will have them in hell for etrnity.

Look at how Paul was responding while he was in prison waiting to be executed:

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4~7)

Or consider this, from James Chapter 1:

2 Count it all joy, my brothers [sisters], when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2~4)

Toya, you are in good company! God has His hand on you. Trust Him. Turn your life over to Him. He won’t let you down. You’re going to come through your trials.
Feel free to write and let us know how it’s going. ~ Jan

I praise and exalt in the Father Son and Holy Spirit that He brought me to this site. And to this Lady. It us true. The enemy obviously does use the same tactics over and over again.

Simon, you’ve done something right already by reading this article. God’s spoken word is demon repellent. So is speaking the Name “Jesus”.
Here’s what to do: begin talking to Bod just as you would to a human person, and speak the name “Jesus” frequently.
For example, “Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus into my heart. Thank you that Jesus is here with me right now. Lord Jesus, I put all my trust in You. I love you Jesus…” and so forth, like that. Watch what happens. Also, speak Bible passages out loud. If you haven’t memorized any verses yet, read them from your Bible. Start with the Gospel of John. I particularly like Chapter 14, where Jesus says, “If anyone loves Me he will keep My Word, and My Father will love him and we will come to him and make Our home with him.” God is on your side, but He needs your permission and your cooperation and obedience to Him.

I agree with you, Veronica, that there is no issue in human life that the Bible does not speak into.
As to why the devil gets to yell at you, it’s because he can — until you and I confront him with the Truth and power of God’s Word. When you stand up to hie with the Truth, it’s line turning on a light in a room infested by cockroaches. As soon as the light comes on, they run for the darkness. Same with Satan and his demons. That’s our access to God’s power. That’s our connection with Him. Read the Word out loud. Memorize passages that speak to your heart. Saturate your mind with Scripture. Watch what happens!

So what you are saying, Brian, is that God ought to keep the devil from messing with us? That’s what Satan accused God of doing with Job. But God, to prove a point, demonstrated to the devil that He (God) could do more with an inferior race (humans – inferior to angels, including fallen angels) than the devil could do. Quite a demonstration. And it’s going on right now. When we suffer for His sake, we’re proving God’s point.

This article is very powerful. Thanks so much for sharing it.

I tried to add a post before, sorry if this shows up twice. But I wanted to ask you, Jan, what your thoughts were on spirituality and physical pain. I have fibromyalgia (well, that’s what the ‘experts’ call it) – lots of back/leg/all over body pain, fear, anxiety, along with a bunch of other issues (brain fog, headaches, the list truly goes on). I have learnd a lot about the origin of this issue. There are many books (particularly written by Dr. John Sarno) that point to a psychological cause of these symptoms. Basically your mind hijacks your body and sends out all kinds of problems to different muscles and organs causing a lot of disfunction. The reason your mind is doing this is repressed negative emotions – primarily anger/rage, fear, greif, and shame. I do agree the nature is psychological – but really, it’s spiritual. There aren’t many books written on the issue with a spiritual bend, just wordly wisdom.

This brings me back to the issue I’ve been struggling with for years. Your advice in this article is very helpful for fear and anxiety, but even when I feel at peace , I’m still trampled by intense body pain.

In another one of your articles you mentioned the guy that always had anxious thoughts, but when he played football and was so engaged in the game, the anxious thoughts went away. This is almost identical to the nature of my problem. If I’m really engaged in something, the pain subsides. Essentially, it’s a distractive method – but, like you say, I need a permanent solution.

I wanted to hear your opinions on what is known as mind/body pain, or rather spiritual/mind/body pain. I know this source is spiritual, and the solution is God. But I’m just unsure if the path to free myself of pain is the same as the path you’re describing in this article to free myself of fear, doubt, and anxiety (I’m in agreement with the latter part, just confused on the former).

You’re wisdom is a blessing to us all, and I’ve wanted to ask someone like you with such powerful insight on these issues. Again, thanks for the articles and this wonderful website.

Ray, your story made me think of Pau’s “thorn in the flesh”

7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations,[a] a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:6-10

We don’t always know God’s purpose when He allows us to suffer. One possibility is described in Hebrews 12:

3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. 4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.” (Hebrews 12:3-6)

You might read that passage. He goes on to say:

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11)

I know this much: God often uses our struggles to strengthen us for Kingdom work. That’s certainly been true in my own life.
      Ray, I hope this helps.

        Jan,

Thanks a lot for the response. The verses in Hebrews are encouraging, though I still wonder at a few things…My biggest struggle in this whole long endeavor is whether or not my suffering (been at least five years of pain and suffering – not to mention death of family members and near-death illnesses by other family members) is my own fault or whether it’s been willed by God to occur in my life. I don’t think the deaths and near-deaths are my fault, but the inability to experience healing, joy, happiness, and a pain free life…that’s what I wonder. I know some people have the philosophy “it is God’s will otherwise it wouldn’t have happened.” But we humans have a will of our own – Hitler and Stalin prove that.

In the case of Job, his sufferings were caused by (allowed by) the devil. Though Job learned much through his trials, he was a prudent man. There’s hardly a thesis that Job’s sin or mistakes brought him his suffering. This suffering was God’s will.

But there are many cases where we humans, through our own will, make mistakes and do not follow the Word of God. We have a will, therefore we are capable of making these wrong turns. These wrong turns can and usually lead us into suffering – as the suffering itself can correct the error of our ways. This seems different in nature to that of Job’s sufferings. Basically, two cases: 1) suffering due to God’s will 2) suffering due to our will. Both can be used by God for the good of all things, but case 2 is something I’ve wrestled with for years. “What am I doing that is bringing me all this pain, isolation, suffering, and despair?”

There are many arguments out there by credible spiritual people that make the claim that one’s suffering, especially the kind of my nature (emotional pain and emotionally driven physical pain) are deliverable by God if the person were to do some combination of the following 1) trust God more, 2) remove sin out of one’s life, 3) resist the devil and/or seek deliverance, 4) forgive others, 5) have more faith, etc. Those are all great points, and ones we should all abide by.

It’s been years of this wandering through this wilderness, seeking God more and more, trying to look into the mirror at my sin, fighting the devil and his demons everyday with God’s word, looking at grudges, unforgiveness, and enmity between me and other people (“neighbors”) in my life…It seems there’s nothing more my will is capable of doing to help my situation, despite the ‘advice’ of those around me.

I have learned to trust God immensely these past several years. I have learned to forgive many people in my life. I have learned a lot of sin in my life. But the suffering continues. It seems the “will” that many people talk of that us humans have to seek God, turn from sin, fight the devil (with the power of God), is not a guarantee to conquer suffering, it simply remains as fundamentally good things to do.

I don’t mean to make this post about my life. There are many that can relate to me. I guess the summary of my (our) point is: Happiness is not a choice, nor is suffering. Even though choosing good and resisting evil are choices that we humans make, happiness and suffering do not correlate to them. Job is proof of that. I (we) just wonder if my (our) suffering is Job-like, or like that of grumbling and disobedient Israelites. Probably a combination, but will my actions make any difference? My experiences so far tells me there’s nothing more I can do except put my hope that one day, God will find it good in His eyes to turn my ‘crimson’ suffering into ‘wool’ deliverance.

        Ray

Happiness is a choice and suffering is a situation. If you have put your life in HIS hands you have no reason to gripe about your situation. Thank him for it. Christianity is a verb. We are to seek God first. Then, you can seek anything through Him. Seventeen years of my life was lived in chronic excruciating pain as they said I too had fibromyalgia. No I did not. I kept seeking and have experienced great healing. If you will, first look up gluten sensitivity, chronic myofascial pain and most importantly The Highly Sensitive Person (Dr. Elaine Aron). Keep seeking His word. God Bless.

My mind is always occupied with nonsense nd negative stuff, then at the end of the day i will remember that i did not pray nor read the bible,so this has really helped me a lot. Thank you so much,God truly bless you! Keep encouraging us as children of God cause honestly, this journey is not easy. Keep well

I feel you when you say it’s not easy. When I was younger I was with the Bible Ministry and we constantly had to remember Bible scriptures and read our Bible all the time and I was surrounded by Believers constantly. Life was much easier because all my faith was in God & all I was doing was being surrounded by other like-minded believers in the word. The word was being put in my mind. Joy was all the time in my heart and I didn’t think bad about things because I was living just for God. That childlike mentality.

Then I entered the secular world and got distracted by clubs and music and having fun. Even though I did not drink alcohol smoke cigarettes or do drugs I still got caught up in other things that pulled me away from my daily devotion to God.

Now years later I’m begging God to give you back that joy that I had when I was younger. And this whole thing that I just read reminds me of renewing my mind. Put on the mind of Christ renew your mind constantly lest Satan should get advantage of us.

Since that point I’ve noticed how my life has really gone downhill compared to what I had when I was younger. Only because I allowed to Satan to distract me instead of me being faithful to God. Right now, reading this article is a wake up call, I feel like I’m getting kicked in the butt because I haven’t been doing things I knew I should do. But God is faithful as long as I get my butt back in gear and get faithful I can see things getting better. But that’s the “point”. Renewing the mind is very difficult because it’s work. And therefore putting our minds right with God means we have to work at it and it does get hard. Sometimes it gets discouraging because we have other things affecting us from our lives and we know that Satan does not want us to be successful so he will distract us with many fun things or other things that bring it down. This is where we need to dig in and be more stubborn. Stubborn is good when you are faithful to God and you decide, “no I’m going to keep doing what God wants me to do and shut out the world and shut up Satan.”

There is a book, “The Bible Promise Book”, That I really enjoy. If your sick, you turn to the section on healing and all you find are scriptures on healing. If you are depressed, then there will be a section of scriptures for tart, financial troubles, etc. There are sections so you can directly go to Confess, read, memorize, scripture for your particular situation. It’s quite handy.

Thank you Jan for speaking the word

Thanks so much for this article. I’ve been looking at the other articles on your website and they are all so uplifting! I wanted to ask you what your thoughts are on “mind/body pain”. I have fibromyalgia and have learned a lot about its nature and how it stems from the mind and afflicts the body. It causes a lot of back/leg/body pain along with a lot of anxiety (many other symptoms, as well). I’ve read a few books on it (written by John Sarno). He claims a lot of the cause is repressed anger/rage/fear/sadness. Of course he does not have a spiritual take on it.

Regardless, I guess to try and sum up what I’m getting at: Your insight on how the devil stirs our thoughts has helped A LOT on the fear/anxiety issues I’ve had. However, I still have quite a bit of body pain. It definitely intensifies when I’m anxious, but it can be present when I “feel” no fear/anxiety. I know the devil is involved in all of these issues, but wondered if you had any thoughts on the physical body pain originating from mental, well actually spiritual, issues.

Kyla, I want to encourage you to look deep into where your trials are coming from. I feels terrible to go through something with as little information as possible…like walking around in the dark. I did a couple of things to get through some of the toughest trials in my life. 1.I asked myself where is this pain coming from??? 2. I asked God to help me to forgive all of those people that contributed to that pain…I was very specific as to whom they were and what they did to me. I asked the Lord to take their debts from me and to do His will in Jesus name. Lastly I asked the Lord to send me the Holy Spirit to guide me through this turbulent time in my life and i begged him to talk to me and to tell me what he wanted me to do. I then read the word of God for instruction on what to do.
I really hope this blesses you.

    Hi Jan!
Thank you for putting this together.

Can the devil give a false joy-peace? I was 99.9% sure God had put something on my heart and shown me His will, His…not what I prayed for or even thought about before. I was having all these amazing signs cross my path, things on the radio, car plates, an incredible joy to work for God in the future…all things He calls us to do in the bible. Check, check, check! Then in a matter of 10 seconds, it was all taken away completely. Its like the devil led me to fake-work for God, only to yank the rug out from under me and is laughing hysterically. How can the devil give me a peace and direction and signs like that – the kind I’d thought only God gives? And to lead me TO GOD. It’s shaken me – I’m numb, I don’t trust in I don’t know what, I’m hurt and angry and completely broken. Where in the bible does it tell me the devil with imitate the Holy Spirit’s peace and comfort and joy? Cause he got me good… I didn’t know the devil had THAT MUCH power. When I read my bible I get to parts that I’m envious God spoke to a person and it happened and I get angry and hurt all over again. Pray for healing for me ?

KB, I don’t know if the devil can give you false feelings of peace or not. But it might make sense. Consider: the devil’s goal is to keep you totally preoccupied with the world system and away from God and away from the Bible. The devil has studied each of us. The demons can somehow influence our emotions and feelings. So long as you are focused on the world system, they know they will have you for eternity. That’s why it’s so important to know your Bible. At the end of Hebrews 5 it speaks of “those who have their posers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” That should be all of us.

Hello.am back here again to be able to encourage someone.i have been trying to find the answers to several worries and hardships that we are going through which cause us to feel like we should give up our hope.so i will curtail everything, though it would be better to understand my experiences that i have lessons from.
1st.. Ask yourself what extent you know God.one time God told me that i was selfish…i thought i understood it until a while ago through a series of circumstances, where i ran to God to help me get me out of my troubles.Everytime i lay on my knees to pray,i asked Him to take a way my pain rather than understanding why He is letting me go through such a circumstance.i remember a lady here who almost gave up her walk because her 6 yr old was being bullied at school for following christ.at first i wanted to encourage her but i didn’t how until now (the son being bullied is because he is taking up the cross which means he is suffering as a christian and whatever word that comes out of the mouth of God must accomplish that that it is intended to do.He did not say that christian walk would be easy rather that He would help us overcome whatever we come across.therefore all that is needed is to Let His will done and ask for strength to overcome what we face and be able to walk through that time.1peter 2 :19~ff ,it doesn’t matter if you are a 1000 yrs in christianity but His will. Even Jesus Christ asked God to take away the cup of suffering before he was arrested but still he concluded that not what he wants but what the will of God is,he felt the pain that your feeling now.(mathew 26..36-39)
2nd what have you made God to be
Like i already said when i was told that am selfish,i had to find out why? And it is because i made God my bank and assistant to command and make sure He gives me what i want.Yes God gives but according to His will.even when my spirit longed for praises to God,all i thought was that something good is coming my way.i didn’t have time to praise God or helping others know Him but about my business, which clothes to put on,how to mantain a model like figure, money, places to visit.all that but having reference for the Lord is the beginning of wisdom which will help you over come what your facing.seek ye first His kingdown and all the rest,…money relationships etc will follow.

And exploring the metaphysical world..energy healing..and so on.. I have found great comfort and healing in nature as well…it is in my heart to bridge nature and the earth to what I’ve learned in the bible..sometimes I catch myself wondering in the wrong direction..a lion jumps out of my heart and defends me..I am so very greatfull..and that is why I am led back to search here,as a reminder that it was not all just a dream, but a very real battle for my soul.Thankyou for your service..much love, Amanda

Thank you for this. I read every word. I started doubting God when I had a terrible nightmare about the devil and an Angel was there but the devil did his hardest to throw me off the Angel. I asked God within good faith to heal my blood pressure and I had believed he did and I even told my nurse I walk by faith not by sight and I even talked to my best friend about God and she had so many questions about God. It was glorious to talk abot Jesus Christ God and the Holy Spirit. It field me with such joy. Then here came the devil in my dreams. My blood pressure was giving me false readings and losing my job. I still prayed and cryed to God for all of this. As I speak I am so down right now. But I pray everyday and cry to God and read my bible to keep fighting the devil off. Its not easy but I won’t ever let the devil win cause Jesus Christ God and the Holy Spirit are my King of all kings and I love him more than my own life. I would die for him. Dorothy Rodriguez

For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Joshua, I’m not really a counselor, but here’s what I know. Those thoughts are from the pit of hell, and the devil is trying to drag you down there. But the Word of God is devil repellent. That’s your weapon: the Word of God. Shoot some”bullets” of Bible verses at the devil.
Remind the devil that he’s going to hell and you’re not. Ask God to help you. Joyce Meyer says sometimes she simple says to God, “God, help me. Help me, help me, help me!!”

    Hello there Jan!
First of all, I would like to thank you with all of my heart for spreading God’s wonderful message of salvation through Jesus Christ! You truly are one of his people! May glory be to Jesus Christ forever and ever, amen!

We truly are in a battle, a spiritual battle with unseen forces of evil.
Our only weapon against the Devil and his evil ways is God’s word! God’s word is to the Devil what poison is to rats.

God’s Word is poison to the Devil, it destroys and kills him!

God’s Word is our only weapon in this spiritual battle for our souls…

I encourage you to stay strong with your faith and keep on spreading God’s wonderful message!

We truly have authority in the might name of Jesus Christ, may to him be the glory forever and ever.

I was once lost and was headed for hell, but in his love for me, he came after me and showed me the truth, I praise Jesus Christ for all he has done!

Thank you once again for your work being a faithful servant of God. I know for sure we will one day meet up in heaven and Jesus Christ will share his majestic glory and complete love with us believers and servants of God! May glory be to Jesus Christ forever and ever, amen!

I once was a notorious sin severed in the Devils Army of death and destruction for 22 years. God knew my life and even tho I was a big sinner I also was a great worrier for the wrong cause. He knows me and He knows the battles of life I’ve been through from the day I was born, through Vietnam and through the ups and downs of the sickness in my physical life deadly ones and be cause of my past history of fighting against the evils of death He had His eyes on me as a great worrier in Battle with the earths enemy and also evil spiritual enemies so He chose me to be a warrior for His Army against all evil . He knew I wouldn’t give into both enemies here on earth and the one who attacked me on Dec 25 2016. I fought the devil and won my first battle with his the evil devil himself. He had been attacking me for a long time but at the time I did not know it , but the more I read and reached the word of God which was to attack him and all the evil he has brought on everyone I was going to exspose him for he really was. That I did and he was sick of it .So he showed his face to me in away you could not imagine. That I will keep undercover but only share in public due to I want everything one to be taught by it . This is not something you see on tv that’s suppose to be reality and is false this is a very real truthful story and it is the truth so help me God.Now with that said it all comes down to the truth and that’s not what the devil is about but by telling him the real truth about him he attacked me and in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord I defeated him. I went back to where I was when he went on his attack it was when I had typed demon and that’s when it happened. What happened well one would not know because like all the other battles in my life one has no clue of how it effected me because that haven’t walked with me trough the valley of darkness and death to come through to see the light of Jesus Christ my savior for ever it’s His God’s grace and my faith in His that brought me through to here. I am a fearful child of GOD. And I fear the Holy Spirit. I pray that GOD takes me out into the world and find Him and stay on the right path and just be around people like me. I like to be social with different kinds of people . Christian young youths like myself so I can stay on task and I can continue understanding, believing, trusting, and loving the Lord. This is what I want to do because I’m going to a Christian college and I know by me doing this I can become a better person.

No sir I beleive we are getting our thoughts from one or the other…………..

I can tell you what Jesus said: “Whoever is not with me is against me” (Luke 11:23). So if you truly don’t want to commit your life to Jesus, I’m afraid you must remain on the other side of the fence.
Here are a few other things I know:
Satan hates you; Jesus loves you.
Satan wants you to be tied in knots of fear, worry, doubt and torment; Jesus offers you His peace.
Satan’s promises are lies, counterfeits; God’s promises never fail.
Satan accuses you night and day before God; God’s mercies is new every morning.
    Satan cares nothing about you; God wants you to know Him;
Satan strives to take you to hell; Jesus lives to intercede for you in heaven.
I could to on and on, but the point is: you have the freedom to reject God. Satan wants to keep you in bondage that is like hell on earth.
You get to choose. And by the way: doing nothing is the same as choosing the devil.

The bible says that any man who calls in the name of the Lord shall be saved. Believe…believe Jesus came and lived and that he died on that cross and was risen from the dead and God will save your soul. He holds the keys to death hell and the grave and he is the final judge! Satan cannot take over your soul when it belongs to God, I don’t care what commitment you have made in the past. God is merciful and his wish is to forgive you and keep you from hell. That is how you can break your commitment to satan!! GOD! if your unsure about believing, just ask him to forgive you, and help you to gain knowledge in him and he will show up!! Read the bible, he speaks through his word. Look around you, look in the mirror, your not an accident and he has a purpose for your life. Just tell him you want to know him and to guide you, don’t give up easily. What do you have to lose?? Other than your eternal soul. He loves YOU!! He is REAL!

I dont believe in anything anymore. My 6 year old is always preaching the word of God and gets bullied by others. I prayed for help for 1 almost 2 years. Spent quiet time with God, read my bible and when i need help the most, utterly silent..nothing. I read my bible as source of comfort, prayed 10 times a day for help. If He is so powerful why let us pray for years and do nothing. Oddly enough in my younger years when i was really bad, i ask for something and it would appare like ‘pop’ right as soon as i wanted it. I completely changed my life, active member in the church and now..no answer. No word. Im really fed up. God doesn’t listen, no one does.

      Hi, Sarah,
I’ve been pondering how to reply to your comment. I know what you mean when you ask why God seems silent. A few years ago I watched helplessly as my son-in-law took his last breath. He died, leaving my daughter a widow. It wasn’t fair.
When you read the book of Job, you see how to respond. Job lost everything, including his business, his servants, even his ten children. About all he had left was his crabby wife who said to him, “curse God and die” (Job 2:9).
But Job didn’t curse God. No, he said to his wife, “…Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” (Job 2:10)
Job taught me something I have been trying to share with others: EVERYTHING IS A TEST! I am certain that Job knew that truth and was living in harmony with it because later on he said, “But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)
He knows the way that you take, too. God has so much confidence in you right now!
When I was four years old, I had to have my tonsils taken out. There were complications in how my throat was healing, and my parents had to take me back to the hospital. I was scared. I remember being on this table with my mouth wide open while the doctor cleared out a some gross stuff from my throat. I was screaming and writhing in terror!
At one point, the doctor still had to put in a few stitches in order to close up the area he had cleared of blood clots. Simple tailoring for him, but I was freaking out in terror. The doctor paused and gently said to me, “I just need to put in a few more stitches. It will hurt, but then it will be all over. But I can’t do it while you are struggling and screaming. I need you to be still and stop twisting and screaming. Do you think you can do that?
There was something about the calm sincerity of his voice that reassured me. What he was doing was hurting me, but it would help me once he was done. So I nodded yes.
So the doctor continued. He was right; it hurt. But he kept reassuring me as he went along. And then he was done!
Perhaps the “Great Physician” is saying the same thing to you right now, through the things you have read here on my blog.
God loves you. He connects you with others who are also struggling. Together we can make it, if we keep encouraging one another as we hold fast to God.
Do you think you can do that?

Juanita, I’m not sure I understand your question right at the end, “what do you offer with out rewrd??”
When it comes to standing against the devil, God offers plenty of reward. He offers peace. He offers freedom from fear. He offers wisdom. He offers knowledge of Himself. Those kinds of things are what we should be desiring above all other things. That’s not just a “churchy” slogan. Those things really can be yours (or anybody’s).

      For Sara,
I seen on here that you don’t believe in anything anymore and I felt the need to care about you instantly. We are all children of God and you cannot let yourself be taken advantage by the devil because you don’t want him to get a victory. This world is a battle between God and the devil. When it ends, you will want to be a real believer before it does. It’s all just a test. Everything we face and battle, our hardships, our griefs, our personal problems, our pain and suffering, it’s all a test that you need to pass to be a believer and not get left in the eternal burning. I will pray for you and your child. All this stuff we go though is hard but in the end your result is this: imagine your most happiest moment you’ve ever had, now just think, that is what just a slice of Heaven will feel like and you are rewarded by God and he will give kingdoms for rewards and it will be the greatest of all to be in his kingdom.

Hey! Chris.it takes a little more patience to know what God does! I know what your going through and your girlfriend is worse to state(since it is not indicated)but remember that at this point where you see that there is no improvement, God Is Working..i personally i know what it feels like to think that the problem is not being worked on by God.However You Can Also apply these few steps that i use and you will surely see that God is doing His work even when you think that there is no change.
    1.take time to listen
When there is a huge problem before us,we tend to focus on it and forget that God speaks.remember that before anything happens, God already knows and He speaks to you but most of the time we can’t listen!.though at this point your feeling down, listen using your inner ears and that means that you do away with anger or anything that may lead you to take wrong actions.
    2.pray for yourself
As much as others are praying for you, God loves to hear your humble cries and also wants to know if what He is hearing from your friends is right.Remember that God already knows but he wants to hear you.
    3.read your bible.
Start from the first page and read your bible, ask God’s spirit to help you understand it so that your able to see how different events happen and how God handles them.here you will be able to know God’s Point Of View which is far beyond human description
    4.be patient for Gods Voice.
God speaks to us in different ways, He may choose to use the bible, His voice or someone you don’t even know.
Lastly focus on God and you will see how your problems wiegh.Dont Give Up!.

      Hi, Chris,
As I have explained in this blog, you have available to you the power to cause the devil to be restrained from tormenting you. That power is within the Word of God.
You Get The Power Of God When You Speak The Word of God . Also, I urge you and your girlfriend to read my own story when I applied these truths in a moment when I knew the devil was coming upon me in the dark of night: The Night I Stood Up To The Devil
To get the full effect of my story I urge you to read the whole “before-and-after” series of articles: Excerpts: How To Be Free From Fear, Worry, Anxiety This link will take you to a page that has excerpts and links to the whole story. You need to know these things, and churches are not likely to be teaching them to you. But read through all of the articles listed.
You and your girlfriend (as well as me and everyone else) have a part in the process of breaking free from the clutches of the devil. You can do it, and no one can do it for you. Just as a personal trainer at the gym can show you what exercises you should be doing, God is showing you through His Word (and using this blog right now) to show you what you must do.
You are in a battle. Like a soldier in an earthly battle, you must train for battle. This battle is taking place in your mind (and the mind of each one of us) but God has given us the “sword of the Spirit, the Word of God” with which to win the battle. You can win this battle, but only if you are prepared.

Faith, examine your life. Is there sin that you need to repent of? Are there areas of obedience to God that you are neglecting?
God doesn’t expect perfection from us, because not one of us can be perfect. He does want to see steady progress in the right direction.
A very effective thing to do is to get a few verses of Scripture into your mind. When you have God’s Word in you, the devil cannot get his words in.

An also just resently I was at the gas station an my price for the items I was buying price came up to $6.66 an I’m a regular at this perticular gas station so the cashier was like woah that’s wierd an I was like what mind you this is at like 6:30ish a.m on my way to work I have a headphone in my ear but no music on yet just grabbin a few energy drinks
But back to what I was saying she was like oh that’s wierd your total came up to 666 an right when she said that my music started playing an irocincally it’s a Dubstep song by one of my favorite Dubstep artist called “Figure” an the songs called destiny awaits but it didn’t just start at the beginning it started from right where the vox kick in an said destiny awaits an the cashier said 666 like 1 millisecond after she said that… An honestly I started noticing these wierd coincidences at my old job when every time IDE look away from our food thermometer it read 66.6

Hi, Staliza, I want to respond to something you said: ” I was leaning twards ill pass but didn’t wanna be mean… Not knowing how he’d react “
I want to tell you: don’t worry about how the devil might react, as though he might be offended or might get mad at you. The devil already hates you and wants you to turn to him. He may even promise to help you. Don’t fall for that empty promise. The only thing the devil will help you with is to help you go to hell.
If the devil could kill you he would have (he’d kill all of us who love Jesus if he could.) But God has permitted the devil to go only so far, and no farther.
And be certain of this: GOD IS RIGHT THERE WITH YOU! ALWAYS! God is waiting for you to turn to Him. Instead of filling your mind with the kind of music you mentioned, fill your mind with the beauty, truth, and wisdom of God’s Word. He would love it if you would do that.

Hello, Jan, I came across your post and was needing some guidance. First off I came to the Lord’s forgiveness recently, Last November, at the age of 23. I’m 24 now. Anyway, even after coming to Him for forgiveness I still suffered from the sin of lust-full thoughts, trust issues, and lack of commitment. These were the three big sins I deal with. It wasn’t until this summer that I really started seeing the full effects of my sins when I compared it to God’s word. Over the course of the summer I started to overcome the lust-full sin little by little by the Holy Spirit. However, I still have these crippling doubts about my salvation. I believe in the promises of God’s word, but it seems like the devil still torments me with the what if’s. One verse keeps coming up that haunts me is when Jesus was taking about those who says Lord, Lord but He says depart from me you workers of Lawlessness. I don’t want to up and he telling me those words. I see others at my church that I go to and I see the consuming joy they have. But, when I look at my-self I’m still in torment. Also, I want to have a consistent quite time, reading His word and being in prayer, but I end up not doing it. Thanks, Patrick H.

Hi, Patrick, I must tell you that (especially) men will always have to deal with those kind of thoughts. We seem to be hard-wired that way. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t conquer them. Paul wrote, “But those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with it’s passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24) I have at times repeated that verse over and over. This is how we must use the “…sword of the Spirit” Paul referred to in Ephesians 6
If you have committed your life to God, you don’t have to worry about not going to Heaven. If you recall, Jesus refers to them as “…you workers of lawlessness”. (The word “lawlessness” refers to those who have chosen not to know and obey His Word. Recall that in Old Testament times, the Scriptures were referred to as “The Law”) So keep reading and memorizing God’s Word. There is great power over sin and over the devil when you have memorized some helpful Bible verses. And you will find many helpful verses as you read the pages of this blog.
Also, don’t let the devil discourage you with those “what-if” thoughts. God doesn’t deal in “what-if’s”. He knows exactly what will happen.
Regarding Joy, here’s what I like to tell people: In Philippians 4, Paul wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice”. Now if Paul could write about rejoicing when he was in prison, we should be able to have joy also. If it’s in the Bible, it’s possible! So then it becomes a matter of trusting God, continuing to stay in the Word no matter what, knowing that He is with you and will bring you through whatever trial you are in. Let it take time. THIS REALLY HAPPENS!

      Hi Patrick,

What you are talking about here is integrity. You have integrity, as a bottom line, even when you do not feel overwhelming joy, certainty, or peace. Even when you are afraid you cannot find salvation, as a child of God, you still exist as an integral component in God’s plan. When you talk of God’s word, you should think also of your own word. It is not necessary to hate yourself for not finding enough quiet time to pray and read the bible. The word of God is written into the world you live. All people move through fear and torment, joy and love. There is much suffering, and there is much rejoicing. Through all of this you maintain a relationship with the creator. Move outside of yourself and you will be more like him. See the love and joy and suffering of others and think about how it relates to you. Think about what it relates to you. We are all here together, one human family, and it is God’s glorious Kingdom.

I have to say I have met many people with deep spiritual aspirations, and it often amounts to self loathing. With high expectations for themselves, people pridefully demand that they plunge the spiritual depths and – making great suffering – they wrench the truth from God’s hands. Certainly humor, love, lightness and trust will help you and the world more than a tedious and critical approach to forcing love. What do you think is more inspiring, 10000 hours reading the bible or one beautiful baby being baptized? A smile from your mother? A hug from your dad? Your best friend laughing? It seems so easy, but these little things bring us closer to heaven than any deep, dreadful Christian duty to occupy the mind with thoughts of hell and damnation, constantly, until the moment when finally it just becomes obvious that love is better. I have found it mostly to be a control issue. Let go of whether or not you are going to ever find eternal salvation, and find a moment of love. Learn to experience moments of happiness and well being. Build upon the skills you have to make the world a better place. Do you know how to make someone smile? Do you know how to help someone work? Do you know how to give someone peace? These are the real successes of a Christian life.

I’m really needing help…satan is trying to tell me God doesn’t exist and is trying his very hardest to pull me away, even when I start to read my bible…what can I do to help these thoughts flee so that I might read the word and begin to heal …I’m really struggling

Hi, Brittany. The question that immediately came to my mind when I read your note was: “if God doesn’t exist, who created the devil??” Of course, the devil would like you to think that he is the one in charge, not God.

You asked, “what can I do to help these thoughts flee…” I am impressed that you said that. Your question tells me that you know that all of this conflict in your life is taking place in your mind. The devil wants you to entertain the thoughts he is jamming into your mind. What you need is to put different thoughts into your mind. And that’s what the Bible is for. Did you realize: every word in the Bible began as a thought in the Mind of God, in eternity past. God gave His thoughts to us through many human writers.
And there is power in God’s Word. (See 1 Corinthians: 18, 2 Timothy 1:7, Ephesians 3:20-21, Romans 1:16).

Recall that Jesus Himself told the Devil that His people live “by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

Also, know that God really is RIGHT THERE WITH YOU RIGHT NOW!! In Isaiah 43:2 God promised, “When you pass through the waters [when you are suffering] I will be with you”. And in Hebrews 13:6, the writer quotes God’s promise: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Even as I’m writing this, one of my mentors (radio Bible teachers) mentioned this verse in his sermon:

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

If you haven’t done so, read my article, You Get The Power Of God When You Speak The Word of God

Also read How To Banish Unwanted Thoughts . Read carefully the four main points, beginning with “Here’s What Works”.

Finally, I urge you to write out some of these Scriptures on recipe cards. Read them over and over. Read them out loud, as I said in the article above. The spoken Word of God is demon repellent!

Find each verse in your Bible and underline it. I’m calling you to do a little work here. You have a part in the process.

But Watch how God moves in to partner with you!

Brittany, in your earlier comment you said that Satan was trying to tell you that God doesn’t exist, along with other lies.
And that’s the key right there: LIES! When you KNOW you are getting the lies of the devil, be aware of this: THE DEVIL ALWAYS LIES\1
So if you hear the devil say that God doesn’t exist, you know that it’s a lie. The opposite of lies is truth. In this case, because we know that Satan always lies, and he’s saying that God doesn’t exist, then we know FOR SURE that God does exist. Because the devil always lies. Get it? Say to him, “Thank you, devil, for showing me the truth. It’s exactly the opposite of what you are saying”.
Here’s a very important thing to remember: sometimes you have to disregard you feelings and act on what you KNOW. Keep saying out loud, “Lord, I know you are right here with me right now. Thank you for protecting me from the devil. Thank you for my life. Thank you that I have a sound mind”, and so forth. Just keep praising God and thanking Him for what He as done for you. The more you keep doing, you will wear the devil down and he will stop bothering you.

this article really helped restore faith in god. I am 15 and I started to loose faith that god even exist. my parents are very religious so I thought It would be okay to ask for proof from him(something that is so clear it is him)that he is real. that was a few days ago. Me and my brother just got into a huge fight, like worse than we ever had, and it blew way out of line. he is 27 and we had been getting along really well for the past few months. we were cursing each other out and saying how much the family hates us and it got way too ugly. he ended up pulling the car over and told me to get in the back seat. I did but I started feeling really guilty for calling him everything I did and saying all those things so I started crying. he didn’t hear me ,thank god, but I ended up doing something I NEVER would have. I just said im sorry. I said I know we have been getting along really well and to ruin that for something so stupid is ridiculous and we are brother and sister and we cant be fighting like we did and I don’t want to go by not talking to you for weeks like that last time we fought. I said how much I loved him and how I need him more than he could ever imagine. he pulled over and got out and hugged me and I got out and we just talked about how we both need each other and how we are both stressed out a lot and we cant use each other as punching bags. for the first time ever he actually teared up and thats something i never saw. that was when he mentioned that it was super mature for me to do something like say that and how I was a peace maker just than. he also mentioned how the devil just tried to ruin our relationship and how god was just screaming louder that we were. that’s when I realized god had just proved himself to me. when I got home I prayed. I thanked god for proving himself and for allowing the devil to get us to fight and giving him permeation to try to ruin our relationship because if he hadn’t done that we wouldn’t have made up and I would still be lacking in faith for god. After reading this article I understand gods plan was to bring out the best in me after allowing the devil to bring out the worst.

Hi, Camron – One of Satan’s favorite things is called, “divide-and-conquer”. Satan wants us to go through life in misery and angry at everything. I’m glad to read of your coming to know the Truth and choosing to live by the Truth of God’s Word.

Hi Jan. I found your article (by no coincidence, of course) when I searched for ways to fight back against the devil. I have been an addict for years, but about six months ago I realized I was out of control and prayed to the Lord that I didn’t want to be in control of my life anymore, and to please guide and direct me. I was amazed and blown away by this personal relationship with God he has formed with me. I never knew this was possible. He has transformed me into someone new. Someone so much better. I am filled with this burning desire on my heart, and all I want to do is stay connected and praise him. My drug abuse was a private struggle, and even those closest to me had no idea. And they can even notice a light shining in me that wasn’t there before.I’ve finally been able to forgive myself and move on. I know the Lord is going to use me to help others in similar situations. I just didn’t realize all the sneaky ways the devil would try to tempt me and break me down. I was feeling particularly weak earlier and prayed and then found your article. It answered so many questions and made me realize just how much hate satan has for me. The Lord will be my shield. I will overcome!

      Hi, Enoch,
Your request is exactly why I’m writing these things. As you have learned, your own strength is not enough. You need the power of God in order to stand against the devil. Which means you have to know at least some of His word. By “know” I mean that you have memorized some verses and can speak them against the devil. It may take time, but I can guarantee you on the authority of the Word of God that if you begin a regular practice of “internalizing” His Word, he will handle the devil for you.

She say she has been feeling convicted in her spirit and she just lost her grandfather so she has been very emotional. This was supposed to be a new beginning for me and her I just don’t know what to do anymore, I am a Man of God me and her both were spiritually connected so i thought. What is God’s name?

In Matthew 6 verses 9-11.. when Jesus shows us how to pray and what we might pray for.. Jesus mentions “May you name be sanctified…” what is His name?

    Reply Link
    • Buffie 03/09/2015, 9:35 PM

Hi Alexandre, that is a great question! The first mention of God’s name is in Exodus when Moses has the burning bush encounter and God is calling him to be the deliverer of the Israelites. Here’s the conversation in the Amplified translation:
      Exodus 3:13-15
“13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them?
14 And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!
15 God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My Name forever, and by this name I am to be remembered to all generations.”

There are many names for God throughout the Bible. Paul even mentions in Philippians 2:9-11
“9 Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,
10 That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

So what it seems to me is important about the Lord’s prayer and keeping God’s name holy or sanctified isn’t that we need to know His specific name but that whenever we use the name of God we do so in a way that brings glory to Him, it magnifies Him, it blesses Him. Remember in the 10 Commandments where we are told not to take the Lord’s name in vain. We are to use God’s name with honor, not swear by Him falsely etc….

One last thing, Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:35-37
“35 The good man from his inner good treasureflings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouseflings forth evil things.
36 But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for everyidle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak.
37 For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.”

So from what I see it’s not knowing the Name that is as important but it’s the way we use that name that is important. I hope this helps and I’m curious to hear others’ thoughts. Thanks and God bless! ????

Your scripture memory link really put fire back in our hearts to be closer to God. We bought index cards and memorized close to 30 scriptures that week, and it honestly felt so amazing!! Pleasing God is the most rewarding feeling ever, and thanks to you and your wife, it was fast and more in depth than any bible study I’ve ever done. I really have to thank you for these advices that you have posted Jan Smith, as I am now having fluctuations with my relationship with God, one day I am filled with spirit and it was gone the next day after, God wanted me to quit my current job and go for theological college and I have the discouragement sometimes to just stay with my job because I need the money and would be stupid to leave my job.
Feeling God’s presence within me are heart-warming, but sometimes when the feeling is not there I am lost and it took quite awhile to get the feeling back again.

      Hi, Rachel,
I know all too well how it is to go through those “valleys of despair”. But you can be sure that God has a plan for your life. When the fiery furnace of adversity is so hot, God has His hand on the thermostat. He knows exactly how much you can stand. His goal is to strengthen you and make you more like Jesus. Think of like this: He is the potter; we are the clay. He shapes us and stretches us and it hurts. But then we have to go into the fire. For if the pot is not “fired” it won’t be of any value. It will be just soft clay, not a beautiful vessel. Just cling to Him through His Word. You’ll make it. ~ Jan

We all get to choose, but we make better choices when we know what God would love for us to do, and the fact that He gives us the strength/power to overcome.

I’m really glad that you like my blog, Maxie.
As for tips for aspiring writers: I began writing Christian / Bible topics before blogs even existed. I felt the call of God to write, so I wrote.
Wordblessings.com is a WordPress site, and styled with a commercial theme named Thesis . I chose Thesis for two reasons: first, one of my sons was using it and recommended it. Second, I like the concept of a software that a community of bloggers are using. My experience from my own database programming days is that you end up with a powerful, well debugged product. There’s a whole community of users helping to continually polish and improve the tool they are using.
The easiest way to get into WordPress is through the company that hosts their web site. We’ve been using HostGator . Their prices are affordable, and their service and 24/7 tech support is great! I’m using their “hatchling” plan. I don’t think Word Blessings has ever been of-line due to a hosting problem.
I’m no expert, but I do know how to do a little about html programming and about styling them to get the “look” I wanted.
There are many “plugins” that will help bloggers to add special functionality to their blog. These usually have been rated from one star to five stars. And there are forums where you can post questions. There are plenty of “newbie” questions that experts have answered. I’ve found that, whatever problem I’m having, others have had the same problem, found the solution, and posted the solution in a forum.
Let me encourage you (and others reading this) to take the plunge and get started.

      I hope this helps!

Christabel, now that you recognize what’s been going on, stay connected to God so that the devil cannot torment you.
Read my article entitled, “How To Defeat The Devil”

Here’s a little excerpt from it for you:

Here’s a sort of over-arching Scripture that declares God’s “how to defeat the devil” strategy:

      Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

I deliberately broke that verse into two lines, to emphasize the two separate thoughts:

      1. Submit to God. Obey Him. That’s the part you can and must do first.
      2. Resist the devil. As God’s obedient disciple, His power operates through you.

Sadly, most people ignore the first part, and try to figure out how to defeat the devil by their own strength. But they can’t do it.

If you would read that article and begin doing what it says, God will partner with you against the devil.

When you’ve got God on your side (and you do) what else do you need?

i have been attacked with thoughts of unbelief and they have really sucked the life out of me. i need the grace if GOD to overcome them. they have made me lose interest in godliness because I felt so overwhelmed by them especially after I succumbed to them. they have really discouraged me a lot and every time I want to believe, I get distracted and lose motivation. God’s Spirit has tried to warn me but I did not listen. that attack has turned me into a completely different person to the extent that I have forgotten my first love. i have also underestimated the power of GOD. I have also felt unfortunate and unlucky and unfavored because of that attack. I have watched my friends thrive because of the amazing faith they have in GOD and I have watched myself sink because of those thoughts on unbelief. i have envied my friends and i wondered why God allowed the devil to bombard me with those thoughts. i have felt weary and the zeal for GODLINESS has gone way down. i have blamed GOD, i have been frustrated and I have to some extent given up. What to do? I need GOD’S HELP!!!!

I am indeed pleased with this page,I have this question to ask…..if ur desire for the word of God have faded away, and you know it is really affecting you and you want to change but is as if u can’t, how can one get back to studying and meditating on it.

    • Jan Smith 04/29/2014, 10:52 AM

Miebaka, that is a great question! (I will probably write an article based on that.)

I see several encouraging things in your question:

      1. you had a desire for the Word of God in the past
      2. you recognize it has faded
      3. you also recognize that it is really affecting you
      4. you want to change
      5. you are asking for help and advice to get back to studying and meditating on it.

Those are all very positive statements.

But, having said those things, you also recognize that you feel powerless to do what you want to do; it is as if you can’t.

Here’s what you need to know:

      1. God has commanded all of us to know Him by knowing His Word; by reading the Bible.
      2. God never asks us to do something without giving us the means to do it.
      3. That thought of “I can’t do it” that you are hearing in your thoughts is being put into your mind by the devil. Somehow, they have ways to do that.
      4. Besides, you were apparently able to do it in the past, so unless your mental capacity has failed, you can indeed do it.
      5. When you were spending time in the Bible in the past, it was easier to keep doing it than it is to start doing again. It’s just like pushing a heavy box across the floor. It’s harder to get it moving than it is to keep it moving.

      Here’s what to do:

      1. Start “small”, but START! Perhaps just read a few pages or even a few paragraphs, but do it every day.
      2. Choose a few verses you want to memorize, and write them on recipe cards, then read them once or twice every day. This won’t take long, so it won’t seem so hard to get started. You are forming a new habit.
      3. When facing difficult situations, start forming the habit of looking for things that you can praise God for, in spite of circumstances. (Read my article entitled, “The Practical Practice of Praising God”)
      4. Always remember that the devil does not want you to know and do any of this.

As you begin to recover the habit of reading the Bible and memorizing verses, you will fee the urge to increase the time you spend on it.

Keep Saying These Things To Yourself:

      1. “If it’s in the Bible, it’s possible!”
      2. “If anyone can have it, I can have it.”
      3. “I want to serve God, NOT the devil.”
      4. “Lord I praise you that you have given me Your Word, and that I have a sound mind (see 2 Timothy 1:7) with which to read Your Word and benefit from it.
      5. “Lord Jesus, give me your strength and grace right now to do your will.”

Miebaka, I hope this helps you. Feel free to ask for more. ~Jan

You want to get the passion back but you don’t have a passion for the one that the bible speaks about. Its like a marriage, you want the passion back in the relationship but if you don’t have a passion about the other one in the relationship you will not have the passion you seek no matter how many times you are intimate. I am not trying to say you do not believe or anything of that nature, what i am trying to say is that the passion will be given to you when you have a passion to truly want to wrote it. Start with the basics what is the name of the person who created everything. Im not talking about GOD, LORD, ELOHIM, or any of these titles. Be aware that the above mentioned are titles not names. How is it you claim to know someone and not know their name; that is the basics of a relationship. After you have found the name search for the truths that the world has hidden from you. Once you accept you have been lied to about almost everything you know concerning the bible you will want to know what did they lie about. Hope this helps you to find what you are looking for.

What is ur opinion about the devil speaking in peoples ear saying( to read the bible promising for thing to prosper and to come true) only to come back and speak negative thoughts into the persons head about god to trick them. What I want to know is what you think, would the devil tell people to read the bible to that very same purpose or no??

      Hello, Anatoliy,
I shared your question with my wife, Joanne. She wrote a great reply:
      —————————————————-
Yes, for when you consider it, what is Satan’s purpose in anyone’s life? To mess up your God-given desire for God and His ways, and to mess with your opinion of yourself and of God. That’s always been his intent…to pull you out of the Hand of God by messing with God’s original programming. When God created you, he built in a sense of desiring to be intimate with Him, and wanting to do things His way. Satan hates that. He goes after that programming from the beginning of your life, attempting to rewrite your operating software to have you conclude that “God doesn’t like me, God isn’t fair, God is fickle, or impotent, or uncaring, I’m not lovable, and God isn’t going to answer my prayers.”

Why would the Devil speak into someone’s ear, “Read the Bible, and God will prosper you and what you want will come true?” (We call this the ‘Health and Wealth Gospel.’) He, being very well read in the Bible himself, would only do it if he figured he then could move in and distort the Truth of the Word in your mind. And it would be easy enough to do. God never promised that He would prosper each one of us, and He never said that He would be our Cosmic Butler and give us anything we wanted. What DID God say? That He would never leave us or forsake us, that He would always answer our request for wisdom, that we would never be left alone to handle life, that He provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and a way for us to spend eternity with Him, that He would be our protection, etc…but that all of this would be dependent on our turning to Him with our full hearts in obedience to Him and His Word.

What is Satan banking on then, when he suggests that “reading the Bible will cause God to have to give us what we want to prosper us?” He is betting that we will get pissed at God when things don’t go our way. He is betting that we will harbor anger and resentment toward this ‘supposedly loving God’ who “didn’t do things my way.” Does this game work? You bet it does! People often assume that a want or dream that came into their mind was put there by God, and that of course God is going to make it come true. So when it doesn’t come true, do we choose to get angry with God, or do we instead question where the thought came from originally? Was the original idea in actuality from Satan as well?

Spending time in the Word allows us to get to know God, and to hear His voice through His Word. The more time we spend, the more likely we are to hear accurately whether the voice we are hearing whispered is from God or from his enemy and ours, Satan. You are right; Satan will stop at nothing to get Christians to turn against God, even if he has to use such righteous-sounding ideas like “Read the Bible and God will have to prosper you.” When you are in a right and intimate relationship with God, you will be asking Him how you can serve Him, not asking Him what He is going to give you.

Being aware that Satan never gives up on trying to pull us to his side will help you to keep a wise ear to what you are hearing. Ask yourself always, “Does what I am hearing match the Word of God, or could this be the enemy calling?” We as Christians will never be immune to Satan’s devices and attacks, just as Jesus never was. Remember what it says in Luke 13 about Satan’s attack on Jesus at the beginning of his ministry: “Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.” An opportune time. That’s what our enemy is always waiting for. Will you be listening with your ear attuned to the Word of God? Or will you easily be fooled? ~ Joanne Smith

Thanks for sharing. Its something we take for granted yet it carries our victory. We are too busy praying yet having no time to feed on the very Word if life. The enemy has deceived the Church into fighting and battling in that we are drained off the life of God. The Word has all that we need for our nourishment in the faith, health and wealth. The Holy Spirit revealed to me the other day that the Word is the Blood of God, when we hear and meditate on it, His life begins to flow withing us reviving us into devine beings that overcomes the world and all evil.
