Supernatural Problems Need A Supernatural Solution

We think our problems are caused by other people, when in fact they are usually supernatural problems.

In reality, our supernatural problems are being caused by the devil.

Note the underlined test:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

That’s who we’re really supposed to be fighting against, not our family members, co-workers, friends, etc.

Two Supernatural Things:

There are only two things in this world that are supernatural: the souls of human beings and the Word of God.

This is important to be aware of because things such as unwanted thoughts, nightmares, panic attacks, fear, doubt,
or anxiety. are usually supernatural problems, and we can only handle supernatural problems by employing the supernatural power of God’s Word.

I’ll dig deeper into this next Scripture passage later on, but I just wanted to reassure you that we have supernatural weapons with which to “take captive” (eliminate; destroy; crush) unwanted thoughts, feelings, emotions, attitudes, etc. I’ll go into what to do and how to do it.

In the following quote, when Paul mentions “weapons of our warfare”, he’s referring to using God’s Word as a weapon against Satan and his demons. The Word of God is the ONE THING the evil ones cannot control.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4~5)

The goal: replace lies with Truth!

Supernatural Problems

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:8)

But you can’t do it by simply “trying harder”.

Fortunately for us, God has put His power into His Word. Here are two supporting Scriptures that come to mind.

Note the underlined test:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16a)

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18)

For Bible-believing Christians, God has given us His power by way of His Word. By the end of this article you will see what to do t

This Whole World Is A War Zone!

Believe it or not; like it or not, every one of us is born into a war zone. We are part of a vast cosmic battle taking place in the heavenly realm, and spilling over into this world. This battle is between God and His angels, and Satan and his demons.

Satan and his demons want to deceive us into believing that God is not good, and that we would be better off if we took his (Satan’s) advice.

That is the very same strategy Satan used to tempt Eve in the Garden of Eden.

The reason we are, for the most part, unaware of this battle — these supernatural problems — is because it’s all taking place in our minds.

The devil has the ability to influence our thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

We THINK that some other person is our problem. The truth is: the other person is being controlled by an evil spirit.

When I was in Army basic training years ago, they had us doing both physical training and weapon training.

Just as it took time roe us to become physically strong and skilled at using our weapons, we as Christians also need to become skilled at using our weapon: the Word of God.

It will take some time and effort, and nobody else can do it for you.

Let me ask you this:

Where in your being is it that you perceive feelings and emotions such as fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, unwanted thoughts, but also love, joy and peace? WHERE??

You perceive all of these things in your mind, right?

So then, here’s what you need:

You need thoughts in your mind that have the power to push out all unwanted thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

The thoughts I’m referring to were first formed in the infinite Mind of God in eternity past, and are now the very Words that our Lord has given us in the Bible. Those thoughts are literally medicine for the soul. And, like the medicine prescribed by your doctor, the “medicine” of God’s Word needs ti be taken internally.

You wouldn’t go to the doctor with a physical problem, get a diagnosis and a prescription, and then do nothing, would you? Of course not!

Let me ask you another question:

As someone has said, “Not every thought you think you thought is a thought you thought”.

So my question is: Whose thoughts would you rather be thinking:: God’s thoughts or Satan’s thoughts?

But you say, “The enemy is clever. He’s crafty. He’s cunning; His lies might seem to be truths. How can I know whether it’s Satan or God?”

That’s why it’s so important to equip yourself with God’s Word, so that you can filter suspicious thoughts through the “grid” of Truth, and spot the lies of the enemy.

Supporting Scriptures:

Note the underlined test:

2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

In the next verse, the writer of the Book of Hebrews refers to some of the more advanced Scriptures as “solid food” instead of the “milk” that newborn baby Christians require:

14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5:14)

Here is one of our major supernatural problems.

The devil will not pull up a chair, sit down, and drum his fingers on the arm of the chair and wait while you look up a verse or call a friend.

No, the Bible says he is like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

However, when we are obedient to God — for example: in honoring Him with our finances — He promises to rebuke the devourer for us!

(See Malachi 3:10-11)

To combat supernatural problems, we have available to us the supernatural power of God’s Word with which we can take every thought captive!

Earlier in this article, I promised to revisit the following Scripture and show you more of the details:

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4~5)

  • the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh — no man-made guns or tanks or fighter aircraft or battleships.
  • [our weapons] have divine power to destroy strongholds — strongholds are the footholds that we have (unknowingly) allowed the enemy to construct in our minds
  • [using our weapons] We destroy arguments — these are the lies the enemy wants us to believe. They may seem to be enticing, but they are lies.
  • and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God — “lofty opinions” are “partitions” raised up in our minds. Think “double-minded”. Praise the Lord on Sunday; live like the ungodly world on Monday.
  • take every thought captive — just as TSA scans your luggage at the airport and confiscates items not allowed.
  • [because our desire is] to obey Christ — because we love Him and long to serve Him and do His will

When you put God’s Word into your mind and heart, His Holy Spirit becomes the gatekeeper of your mind!

THAT is how we overcome supernatural problems!

This is not just “Religious Talk”.

THIS REALLY HAPPENS!

And the more we do that, the easier it is!
The Enemy May Lay A “Guilt Trip” On You

The truth is: ALL OF US ARE GUILTY!

The devil knows that, and tries to use it against us. He knows that God is a God of justice, and that every sin must be punished.

But in the courtroom of heaven (which is in session day and night continuously), those who have made Jesus their lord and savior have the ultimate advocate: Jesus Christ Himself.

So, picture the courtroom drama:

Like a sleazy, scumbag lawyer, Satan appears in the courtroom of Heaven bringing charges against one of us. Notice the underlined text in the Scriptures below.

(I’m not implying that all lawyers are scumbags; only Satan.)

But according to the Bible, this courtroom drama goes on “day and night before our God”. Notice the underlined text:

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. (Revelation 12:110)

But then it gets interesting:

The “Judge” (God The Father) asks if there is any defense.

Jesus rises to His feet in Majestic Glory and approaches the bench.

Jesus: Mediator and defense attorney:

Jesus Himself steps forward when the charges are brought against us by the devil and says in effect, “Your Honor, the defendant is one of My children. I paid for those sins on the cross”.
The Bible shows Jesus defending us:

…He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25)

24 For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. (Hebrews 9:24)

And then, what does the Judge say?
“CASE DISMISSED!!”

But you say, “I know I’m forgiven, but I still feel guilty!”

Here’s what I’m trying to get you to understand:

Once you have genuinely repented of something, God has declared you to be NOT GUILTY. It’s as though it never happened.

Otherwise, you’re still carrying around your supernatural problems.

Those feelings, thoughts and emotions are being slipped into your mind by a demon!

Supporting Scripture come to mind:

I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. (Isaiah 43:25)

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)

So if the enemy is trying to get you down by reminding you of your past, I suggest you remind him of his future: in the lake of fire!!

Supernatural Problems

Say to the devil right now, “I’m on to your lies! You cannot torment me any more. In the mighty name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, GO TO THE PIT OF HELL”

But We’re Not Done Yet

Look at what Jesus says will happen:
Note the underlined test:
Return of an Unclean Spirit

43 When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. (Matthew 12:43~45)

Notice: the “house” was clean, BUT IT WAS EMPTY!

It’s not enough to “clean the house”!

You have to have the right spiritual “tenants” living in it! Otherwise, the evil spirit will move back in and bring along all of his relatives!

Then here are supernatural problems you will have

You will have EIGHT TIMES as many unclean spirits as before (The original unclean spirit plus seven more).

Plus: The seven “invited” unclean spirits are worse than the first one!

Result: your condition will be worse than it was at first

BUT: Good News!

It doesn’t have to happen that way.

The Holy Trinity is standing by to empower you for victory over your supernatural problems! Isn’t that what Jesus is saying in the following verses?

15 If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.. (John 14:15~17)

Jesus will send the Holy Spirit to with you and in you forever!

21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. (John 14:21~24)

Jesus and The Father will come to you and make and make their home with you!

Lets review what we have here:

  • Jesus will ask the Father to send you another helper — the Spirit of Truth
  • The Spirit of Truth will be in you
  • Jesus will manifest (reveal) Himself to you
  • The Father will love you
  • Jesus and The Father will come to you and make their home with you
  • These Words come from The Father.

This Is What God Wants From Us

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” (Hebrews 8:10~12)

Here’s What God Is Saying:
  • this is the covenant that I will make — God wants a permanent intimate relationship with YOU.
  • I will put my laws into their minds — when we spend time with our sets of verses, He will cause our minds to remember them. We’ll have information.
  • write them on their hearts — He longs for us to make the principles in His Word our way of life. Now we have illumination. We “get it”!
  • I will be their God — We will enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. He will “manifest” (reveal) Himself to each of us.
  • they shall be my people — Imagine the peace and joy when we KNOW we are His people.
  • they shall not teach — teaching is no longer necessary; everyone will know.
  • for they shall all know me— having created each one of us, this is what God longs for: to be known — and thus willingly loved — by his created people.
  • from the least of them to the greatest — this is available to ALL Christians, not just for certain self-appointed clergy members
  • I will be merciful toward their iniquities — He realizes we cannot attain perfection in this corrupt world.
  • I will remember their sins no more — because Jesus paid the ultimate penalty on the cross for the sins of each of us.

What To Do and How To Do It

I just wanted to say: you cannot expect full-time help from God if you are a part-time Christian. You know: church on Sunday; no one knows you’re saved on Monday. No “Secret Service Christians”.

Be Transformed

2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2)

Here’s Your Assignment:

These links will open in a separate tab/window.

Have You Done Your Assignment?

If you have: — GOOD! Good for you!

But — REALITY CHECK — Perhaps You Haven’t!

Are thoughts against doing what I’ve urged you to do coming to your mind? Those thoughts are from the devil!

Here’s how I know that:

Because the Word of God is the ONE THING that the devil cannot control! Once you become Bible literate, the devil has lost the battle. His stronghold in your mind is gone! It’s demolished! You’ll be thinking God’s Thoughts, not the schemes of the devil.

Did you know… someone has counted 3,900 Scripture passages in the Bible that command us to know God’s Word. Wouldn’t you agree… this is a top priority with God?

Consider carefully:

Which kingdom — heaven or hell — will rejoice when you begin to internalize God’s Word?

Which kingdom are you serving?

Once you have “swept the house and put it in order”; once you have invited the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to make themselves at home in your “house”; get ready for this:

Here’s What You Have:
  • Jesus is in the house
  • The Spirit of Truth is in the house
  • The Father is in the house
  • You are equipped and trained to destroy strongholds
  • You are taking every suspicious thought captive
  • You may see supernatural problems going on AROUND you but no longer IN you
  • BEST OF ALL: You will be living in PEACE!

And all it will take on your part is less time each day than you probably spend on your email!

Now, with all of that going on in your life… Ummm…

Could somebody remind me…

What was it again that the devil was going to do??

You’re not the one with supernatural problems now. The devil is the one with the supernatural problems! Agreed?
