How To Conquer Fear And Anxiety

So… you’re anxious, are you?

You came here wondering, hoping it might be possible; that someone isn’t just putting you on; that you might actually find relief from the burden you’re under.

On the authority of the Word of God, I can assure you of three things right now:

FIRST: That God is right there with you, RIGHT NOW!

SECOND: That God loves YOU!

THIRD: That it REALLY IS POSSIBLE for you to live free from fear, even though you circumstances may be difficult.

I hope you believe those things, because they are true.

The following statement is also true:

You are in a spiritual battle. Satan and his demons are the cause of your fear and anxiety.

I pray you are not among the 2/3 of the people who do not believe that demons actually exist. But the truth is–and I say this on the authority of the Word of God–that demons do exist. Their purpose is to confuse you, lie to you, cause you to live in fear, keep you as far from God as possible, and ultimately to destroy your soul in hell.

But None Of That Has To Happen!

You actually have more control over this than you think. What you need is information. That’s what you’re going to get here.

But, having said that, I must also tell you that you have a part in the process of defeating the devil.

Let me explain that.

With God, it’s nearly always a partnership deal. If there is a part that you can do, and there usually is, He won’t do His part until you do your part. His purpose is not to provide you with a trouble-free life of ease. Actually, He uses those troubles to build His character into you. He wants you to become more like Jesus.

But He knows we cannot serve Him effectively when we’re tied in knots of fear, worry, anxiety, and panic. And so He has promised to be our help in times of trouble. But we have to ask, and we have to be living in obedience to Him.

Here’s How Jesus Defeated the Devil.

Read the incident for yourself in chapter 4 of the Gospel of Matthew. After fasting in the desert, Satan tried three times to tempt Jesus to sin. In each of the attempts, Jesus stood withstood the temptation by speaking the Truth of Scripture.

The really good news is: Jesus has granted the same power to us. To put it another way: the battle with the devil takes place in our minds, and we win the battle with Scripture.

I don’t blame you if you’re skeptical regarding that last statement. Years ago, before I knew any of these things, I would have dismissed a statement like that as baloney. It would have sounded like something you’d expect in fantasy literature or movies, with wizards speaking their incantations and concocting magic potions.

I challenge anyone to read through the articles linked in the list at right, and still call me a kook or a liar.

Here’s An Important Thing You Should Know Right Now.

Having read this far, if your thoughts right now are in any way negative; if you’re skeptical, disappointed, angry etc., those thoughts are being put into your mind be a demon RIGHT NOW! How do I know? Because I know from the Bible how important it is to God that we take His Word seriously. He’s longing for you to take a step of faith and check out the information I’ve gathered into the articles linked here and elsewhere in this blog. The devil does not want you to know any of this. So you have to decide which voice you will listen to.

I’m resisting the urge to dump a truckload of Scriptures on you as an attempt to back up everything I’m saying here. But at this point, that would be rude. But I want you to show you one that may help you to decide what to do.

4230-the-word-is-foolishness-2

See what it says? The word of the cross [read: the Bible story of the cross; the concept of using Bible verses to help with problems of life] is regarded as foolishness by many (perhaps most) people. But they are perishing. Their souls are not going to end up in heaven.

It also says that, for those who have chosen to make God’s Word the guiding light of their lives, the Word of God becomes the source of power to live a true Christian life.

Here’s why you should believe that part about the Word of God somehow giving us power. Take your Bible and open it to chapter one (1) of the Gospel of John. You should underline this verse in your Bible:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

Verse 1 contains the phrase, “…the Word was God.” God IS His Word. So, when you have the Word of God in you, you have God in you!

God doesn’t expect you to memorize the whole Bible, but you need to know at least some of it.

Consider this: your life is regulated by many rules, laws, and principles that you have to know and adhere to. Think, for example, of the chaos that would result if there were no traffic laws and everyone drove according to what seemed right to them. Or, think of all the principles, procedures, and rules that guide you as you do your job.

It’s the same with God. The more we know and follow His teachings and statures and ordinances and precepts and testimonies and and judgments and laws and commands, the more we are able to live in harmony with Him.

The focus of my ministry, then, is to open people’s eyes to the practical, beneficial, life-transforming principles of the Bible.

There’s an axiom of the world that says, “What you don’t know can’t hurt you”. That’s a lie (the devil probably started that). A better way to say it is like this:

“What you don’t know can never help you.”

Getting started in the Word of God is easy. God does not command you to do something that you are incapable of doing. Read the articles I have linked on this page. Print out the PDF files I have linked to, and see just how easy it is to get started.

You see, the way to defeat the devil is to submit your life to God, and begin thinking His thoughts. When you have saturated your mind with thoughts from the mind of God, the devil can’t get a word in edgewise. It really works.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom” (Colossians 3:16)
